  • Separates Are Viable .vs. Combined
Style: 2000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
I *also* own a Renogy 2kw combined charger/inverter. That unit has an internal 30A transfer switch and is very fast to change over. HOWEVER, it has two serious issues: 1) The fan is on a LOT even when just charging lightly and 2) it has to be "on" to charge the battery bank. So this, plus a separate converter-charger, means (1) you move the plug from shore power to inverter when you need to. Or does it? Well, maybe not, if you are willing to run the same way. The reason is this: This unit is SILENT except when under pretty heavy load. So if you have a converter/charger that can deliver the amps you could turn this on whenever you have shore or generator power, the converter is on, and your plugged-in things are on this all the time. This is basically 15 amps of output (as is the 2kw all-in-one) but the transfer is manual -- other than none at all if you leave it on all the time when on shore or generator power. Is this viable? IMHO, yes, because the quiescent draw on this thing is only about 1 amp or roughly 12 watts. You can't leave it on ALL the time when there is no charge as obviously 1 amp will kill your pack BUT if you have a charge source 1 amp is not much -- and you silent operation except under heavy load. If your converter/charger fan is thermostatically controlled.... there you go. The biggest issue I have with all the integrated ones, whether Renogy, Victron or anyone else is noise level. This doesn't matter if the unit is not in inhabited space and far enough away that it doesn't matter, but if it IS in inhabited space then it really does matter quite a bit. No idea on reliability but it absolutely does put out the 120V, its sine-wave, and at least under light loads the fans never come on. Someone should figure out how to have ambient cooling except under heavy load and essentially be silent in something like the Victron MultiPlus (or equivalent Renogy) units, but until they do if noise is a factor separates win for that reason, along with charge being independent of the inverter being turned on. ... show more

  • This thing works!!
Style: 3000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
I purchased the progressive Dynamics 2000w inverter this week and it wouldn't do what I needed it to so I order this one and it's MUCH BETTER! I just bought a new jayco travel trailer that came with solar and some garbage batteries so I swapped out the batteries for 600ah lithium smart batteries and can power out air conditioner! This was half the price of the other and we now have ac WITHOUT shore power or generator. I figure we can run 10 straight hours with no sun but we'll probably only need a couple of hours a day. The next step is a few more solar panels to keep the batteries topped off daily. I've only had my camper a few weeks and this transition is awesome! I will update if this fails or any issues I run into ... show more

  • Great Choice for my Camper Van Build
Style: 2000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
I purchased this for a camper van build. So far it has worked great. There are a few things to consider when purchasing a power inverter. First would be size. Look at the components that you intend to use and make sure that you choose an inverter with adequate wattage. For my van this inverter powers my induction cooktop and is also wired to two standard electric outlets. My cooktop requires 1800 total watts which seems to be pretty standard give or take. Second thing that was important in choosing an inverter was the remote on/off switch. Inverters are going to be drawing power from your battery any time they are turned on regardless of if you are using them to power devices or not, so you do not want them on all the time. This inverter has a nice looking remote switch that I added to my master switch panel as seen in my second photo. The reason this was very important is because my inverter is located inside my storage area and is not easily assessable. The switch comes with plenty of wire to run it anywhere in the vehicle and has an indicator light to show when it’s switched on. Third would be noise level. All inverters have cooling fans and some can be very noisy. This inverter has a very quiet fan. I doubt I will ever be able to even hear it running from the cargo area. The inverter has a sturdy steel mounting plate on the bottom that is visible in my first photo. All things considered I am really pleased with this purchase. The inverter works well and was well designed. ... show more

  • Amazing inverter, miserly manufacturer
Style: 3000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
Electrical engineer certified, does everything is designed to do. Gets a bad review rating why? Like every other little review on here. Lack of accessories, cables, and other essential components that you are forced to go out and buy just to get going. For the amount of money I paid you, I expect to be able to have this thing running out of the box. The fact I had to make a second annd third Amazon next-day order is unacceptable and frankly embarrassing for a company of this quality and reputation. It’s NOT that hard to ship a 1/0 gauge wire and control panel hookups; for a bulky 3000W inverter that is literally 0.5% of the packaging and shipping weight FFS. ... show more

  • Extremely reliable!
Style: 2000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
YES, it will feed a Victron Quattro system because the power is SO clean. BUT had disconnect the GFI Mini Board inside the inverter. A simple disconnect of the mini board communication cable and put screws back in and it fired up immediately. There is a Youtube video of a person showing how to disable it. I followed those instructions. 2012 6.7L Stock F350 Dully Can push this to 15-16 Amps before the Inverter will let you know the voltage is slowly dropping. If I installed the 2nd Alternator I'm sure I could keep it as the full 2000 Watts continuously. I use this to charge my 100% Victron Power system in my 43' 5th wheel when I am moving between campsites. Never have to turn the AC or Hot water heater off! ... show more

  • Been working great
Style: 2000W Inverter Pattern Name: Converter
I've had this for a minute now, I have been running power tools off of it (table saw, circular saw) and using it to power a small cabin. Very happy with it.
