I'd used Redken for years and strayed away over time with cheaper brands. I found this set visiting my mom and tried it. GAME CHANGER. It's super (!) soft and I *immediately* noticed a difference with just one use. I ordered a set for myself. My mom said "When I use Redken, it's like my hair knows to behave." HA! :) This IS pricier than cheaper products - however (big however) - I have to use *very* little of both the shampoo and conditioner, so it actually pans out in the end.
