These shades are great-TrueLy black out (brown ones)-I get no light in the morning from east facing windows! The look is very nice, not cheap looking. We recently moved into a 20-window house and haven’t decided on blinds /curtain situation yet and Thank God for these pieces that keep us from having to worry about that situation yet! So I have always intended these to be a temporary solution, but now starting to wonder if maybe keep them long-term under curtains.... I bought 6 of the brown (“black-out”) and 18 of the white that are wonderful light “filtering” which means light gets thru a bit to keep the room somewhat lit. The white ones will wake you up in the morning. Both provide zero visibility to people outside, even if it’s nighttime and you have the lights on, so they both provide maximum privacy. It’s been about 4 weeks and out of the 20 installed, about 4 have fallen and need to be put back up very few days; 1 is completely done and won’t stay up anymore. While it is extremely time-consuming to open and close them every day, it is easy to do. The hardest part of the installation was the measuring- if you don’t measure and cut perfectly, you will have issues with the hang. For the price, These are beyond excellent. ... show more

I was looking for shades but couldn't find what would work. Than I saw these and the price is unreal, so I figured they would be flemsy. There made of paper but pretty strong paper and so easy to use and you can't berry the price, and they have choices of color and size. If you need you can also cut to size very easy. My Amazon Warehouse "Like New" item looked new except there were no clips. Sadly, I did not realize it right away. It does the job on my garage door and window cutouts. I have plenty of extra. For the value, I highly recommend using these before drilling and installing a permanent solution. For example, I tested how high and wide I wanted the shade as well as whether I liked the color. It was easy to install. I like that it worked for all my different sized windows. It blocks out the light really well. My only complaint is that the adhesive doesn't last. They were all falling down within hours so I used glue gun

My guest room gets light from the street lamp and the morning sun. Despite having sheers over the window and drapes being drawn, light was still coming through. So, I ordered these to go on the inside trim and they performed as I needed them to. It also blocks out the warm summer sun. The windows are near the A/C vent and after a few hours, dryed out the adheasive and the shade fell down. I added 2 small pieces of 2-sided, heavy duty tape to each end at the top of the shade and that did the trick. 6 shades in the package makes it a great deal! I use these blinds under sheers, and light curtains for help cutting down the glare and the heat during the summer months. And they do make a difference! Our neighbor cut down a big old tree, and we lost all the shade we had in our kitchen, these come in very handy. I don’t bother with the adhesive. Our windows are old and all have wooden frames so I use pushpins - either clear ones or the velvet-covered ones that you can find in a craft store or dollar store. If I could give a zero rating, I would. I bought the six pack of the blackout blinds. They do not stay stuck for longer than four or five hours. I am now on my last blind. I am not getting my hopes up. I cleaned off the surface to make sure something was not preventing the blinds from bonding to the window frame. But after four hours or so I find the blinds have let go and fallen to the floor. I have some double sided tape I use in my woodworking shop that I will use to try and help improve the sticking power. However, as far as I am concerned these are an inferior product.
