Great fireplace logs. Worked with my existing burner that my townhouse had. The previous owner burned wood logs in it after their old concrete logs died. I didn't want to blow up so I bought these. I read a few reviews that mentioned excessive sooting - so far, I have not noticed this. (although I do not run my gas fireplace all that often) These were purchased to replace the logs the previous owner of my house took with them when they moved. (Who does this?! Why not swipe the light bulbs and toilet paper while you're at it... at least those items are easy to replace) These were very hard to source, and I was a little reluctant to order them online... but fantastic price, and I cannot believe the shipping was not out of this world - these things are HEAVY. They really do lend a natural look to the fire - there were so many in the box, I almost did not need to use them all in such a small fireplace. Would recommend to others ... show more

The logs look very good and are quite substantial. However I had to return them because the way I understood the description there would have been 2 - logs 18” long, which I needed. The quality of the product looked top notch, so I was very disappointed I could not make them work.

We purchased these logs, although they were more expensive than most shown on Amazon, because we wanted the realism of natural logs. They came well package and not a scratch on any of the logs. We could not be more pleased. They are substantial and made in the USA. We purchased a burner plate separately through Amazon and had a plumber convert our fireplace easily. If you want a quality product and one that will last for years and years, buy Peterson. It is definitely worth the extra price. ... show more

These logs are realistic looking, but make sure they 1)fit your fireplace, and 2) that you have the right kind of burner for them. My set came without a burner, and since we have one I thought they would work. They did NOT. While they can be returned, you pay $$$$ shipping (they are very heavy), and have to pay restocking fee, plus the original shipping if returned, even with amazon prime. It wasn't worth it for us to return them. now we have logs we can't use. due diligence ahead of time is good! ... show more

I also have the Natural Glo large fireplace logs from a previous fire pit. The Natural Glo logs look and feel cheap next to the Peterson Real Fyre logs. The Peterson logs are heavier, nicely textured and more substantial than the Natural Glo logs. When its dark and the fire is lit these logs look very realistic. We ordered this and it looked so easy, we just placed the logs in our first place and started it up. It looks real. However, it smelled really bad and I started getting a headache. So I looked again at the instructions and there are Warning signs everywhere in the book. So I called the company today, and he said we had to also buy their Fyre Burners and Valves for $600.00 and you have to call a plumber to have it installed. WOW. Now we have to just throw it away. ... show more
