  • Best black aluminum riser I've found on here
Finally, a black aluminum stand that supports a Thunderbolt monitor without bending from the weight. I've been looking for something like this for a while, specifically an aluminum riser in black to match the aesthetics of my Apple desk setup that won't bend under the weight. It's weird how hard this is to find. And while this one is really expensive, it works. Plus, the LED lights underneath and extra ports on the side are a nice touch. I didn't necessarily need them, but yeah I'll use them for sure. ... show more

  • A solid stand, needs a longer USB C cable
I have a large 49" ultra wide OLED monitor with metal housing and a metal stand coming in at almost 30 lbs. I wanted something that would be able to prop my monitor up while offering some storage space below for earbuds and various other things. I decided to try Razer's monitor stand. The first thing I noticed was the great build quality. The stand is made of metal and feels sturdy. I put my monitor on the stand, which is just big enough for my monitor's large footbed, and the stand didn't wobble. I've tried other stand in the past, but they always wobble with the off-center balance of my monitor. There's a large amount of weight in the back and most of the display's weight is towards the front due to the curve. It was easy to assemble because there was no assembly. I took it out of the box and that was it. The size is large enough for my 49" monitor and can fit my small TKL keyboard under it. I don't use the space to store my keyboard, but I do have some earbuds, cables, and various other things stored under it. The stand does act as a hub. Razer included a 1.5ft UCB 3.2 type C cable. It's way too short to use with a desktop that's off to the side. I get what they were trying to do because the stand has HDMI input and three USB outputs (two type A, the other type C). It would be great for notebooks. But Razer should have included a longer cable. This is an expensive monitor stand and USB C cables are inexpensive. I ended up buying another cable that was long enough to reach my desktop. HDMI 2.0 also doesn't help much when you have high refreshrate monitors. I could not plug my monitor into the HDMI port and use its native resolution and frame rate. My monitor supports 240Hz and a native resolution of 5120x1440. When using the HDMI port in the Razer dock, and not my GPU's DisplayPort output, my resolution was fine but I was locked to 120Hz. I could drop my resolution down to 3840x1080 and get 240Hz, but then I was running at a lower resolution. I still have the dock hooked up to one of my desktop's USB 3.2 outputs, but I'm only using the two type A ports for accessories and the type C port for charging things. I tried plugging the stand into my GPU's USB-C output and the USB-C on my motherboard (which I think relies on my CPU's integrated graphics), both had the same results. Razer's software is also kind of terrible. It takes forever to boot on my desktop (which is a Ryzen 7 5800X with 64GB of RAM, a primary 2TB NVMe PCIE 4 SSD, and RTX 4070Ti) and the RGB doesn't kick in until after the software boots, which is usually the last thing my desktop fires up. I have a lot of background processes (Corsair for the fans and CPU cooler, Logitech for my mouse and speakers, Samsung's display software, Steam, OneDrive, Windows Security, and a few others). But Razer's software seems to use the most RAM and take the longest to boot. Still, if you're in Razer's ecosystem, this is a nice stand for everything. It's high quality, holds a heavy ultra wide monitor, and the USB expansion ports are nice. The HDMI port is rather terrible if you have a high resolution, high refreshrate monitor and the stand's overall price is expensive. But the build quality is premium and it's sturdy. ... show more

  • Gorgeous black monitor riser
I needed a monitor riser to help organize my desk and to put my monitor on. This was perfect especially since I was looking for a black one. This one is made of aluminum so it's not super heavy, and can support up to 44 pounds - strong enough where I don't have to worry about it. I thought I didn't care about the lights, but I actually liked that more than I thought I would. Now that my monitor is on top of it, I have increased storage space and my desk looks much neater with my planner and headphones tucked away underneath it. While this costs more than other monitor stands, the build quality of this is excellent. ... show more

  • It's expensive for what it is
first and foremost - it's expensive. Would I have spent my own money to buy this? No. Do I think it's worth it? No. Do I like it though? yeah it's pretty nice. Things I like: > The monitor stand is hefty and strong, made of solid aluminum, it shouldn't have any problem holding your monitor. It definitely has a premium fit and finish > The RGB is cool and does give a nice underglow. I especially like having the light react to what the bottom of my monitor is showing to provide that ambient immersion. Pretty cool. > The USB cable it comes with is super hefty Things I dont like: > The powder coat picked up finger oils immediately. > Not enough I/O. It has 2 USB A ports and 1 USB C. I'd like something like 4 USB A's and 2 USB C's, especially at this price point > The HDMI port is HDMI 2.0. Again, for the price, I would have expected HDMI 2.1 - especially since this is marketed towards gamers who would probably care about FPS. > It's catered to laptop owners. I dont have a gaming laptop. My desktop has limited USB C ports, yet the USB cable it comes with is C to C. I had to dig up a USB C to A adapter to plug it into my preferred port. Also, the C to C cable is pretty short. Maybe 3 feet? That definitely makes me think this is for laptop owners who will put their laptop underneath the stand or something. I have a tower on the floor with a sit/stand table so I'd need pretty long cables for this to work for me. Thankfully I already have a separate hub on my desk to account for that. Bottom line Basically, you can get a nice aluminum monitor stand with RGB + a fairly standard USB C hub and have all the features this stand provides AND you'd have saved a lot of money. Maybe this is for the super Razer fanboys out there but I just can't see how this could be worth $200. And this is coming from someone who owns multiple razer products (Kiyo Pro and Viper Ultimate, Blackshark V1). There's an AD for this by some rando that says this stand "changed his life". This stand isn't changing anyone's life. I think a reasonable price for this would be $100 which would include the Razer brand tax. ... show more
