    • Feel like a kid on Xmas day! This thing is awesome! I bought two! ALL steel construction.
The opening mechanism contains a simple lock but it too is all steel construction, with a set of nice steel keys that won't break off while opening. The draws don't use glides, just basic felt tracks that allows the draws to slide in and complete out with ease. Paint job is good, no under sprayed areas on the drawers, inside, etc. Comes with custom cut "no slip" sheets that fit each drawer. It is weatherproof because all the joins use folds that direct any water away from the seems. It will take only some self applied weather stripping to seal it even tighter. The key slot is also self closing which will aid in waterproofing. Yearly application of some silicone lubricant to the hinges and lock should keep it rust free for years. Got this for my truck and so far, I'm happy with the purchase. Pros: Cool/unique/retro design, well-made (all metal construction, no sharp metal edges), good size with (2)convenient pull-out drawers and (1) removable tray, storage slots on the swing-out door is a handy feature along with the armature that you can extend to keep the lid open, and I really like that the whole thing is lockable. Cons: As noted by another reviewer, durability might be an issue because the hinges seem flimsy & undersized (although I understand why they chose not to put larger hinges- it would affect the smooth look and may stick out too much). The drawers have no stops. The paint finish isn't consistent- the outside is smooth with a high gloss red finish & the drawers have a textured surface with an off-color red (maybe this was intentional?). Finally, I'm not crazy about the big logo- wish they left it off (or made it a sticker so that I could peel it off). Overall, happy with the product and highly recommended. ... show more

How can you make your SUV look even better and more macho, the answer is easy. I store my most important tools in my Trail Can and strap it to my inside spare time in my Blazer. It is a nice clean and compact storage solution for my clutter of tools. The weight of the box does not make it difficult to pull out of my car and carry it around to where I need to work on a project. Someone suggested that I place a Bio Hazard label on the outside of the canister so that someone would not break into my car thinking they were getting access to some free gasoline. I just keep mine covered up with my fender cloth anyway. Out of sight buy not out of mind. I only wish I has one of these a long time ago. I might mention that they are great storage containers for gun cleaning parts and solutions also. I am not going to tell my wife that this makes my honey do list easier, but it does. ... show more

Purchased this for someone who is hard to buy for - if they want something, they’ve already bought it! While that tempts one to just send an Amazon gift card, a skinny card is not the same as a gift wrapped package. It arrived before the scheduled arrival, which was nice. The box though was damaged extensively and had been taped back together. I was worried about that - no way was that can intact inside that mess! But it was unscathed- to my intense relief. It’s double packed, and the inside packaging served its purpose. It was a little heavier than I expected. The locking mechanism needed a little lube to get it moving a little more freely, but that was a simple process. I had been a little worried because some of the reviews I had read were less than complementary. I was very pleased - it was nicer than I was expecting. It’s a great way to disguise a small tool kit in plain sight. It’s construction seems heavy and rugged and should hold up well.     • Nice concept but bad execution
I was really stoked about this unique tool box or Jerry can. Unfortunately the lock was broken so I had to send it back for a refund. Was not ready to take a chance on another one. Three stars are all they get. Good concept for a tool box; but very poor execution!!

Oh where to begin... Received the trail can in a box that looked like it might’ve traveled cross-world, twice. Upon cutting the tape on the top flaps, it became apparent the entire side of the box had previously split open and then re-taped. “This isn’t gonna be good”, I muttered. This clearly has been returned multiple times and just keeps being sent back out to the next poor sucker. I’ll keep this next part as short as I can, letting the pics do the talking. Multiple scratches, a dent, insanely inconsistent paint color, top tray doesn’t come out without getting jammed into the hinge, and quite possibly the worst paint job I’ve ever seen on a product. When you ask a company where their product is made, and they answer “Our product is manufactured in China under strict quality guidelines, with standards checked each month”, it tends to be BS. This is one of the many reasons why I try not to buy products from there. This was such a cool concept I made an exception, and was immediately reminded why I should stick to my personal standards. I currently have a tool box on the way that’s manufactured in Japan, and can’t wait to relish the quality. ... show more

    • Holds a lot, looks cool doing it!
Husband bought this for me for Christmas since I was complaining about having multiple tool bags in the back of my Jeep TJ. It fit all my tools except for my can of WD-40, so I was really impressed. Only thing is, is it only fits one direction in the trunk, and slides around so I bungee corded it to a roll bar and now it stays put! Other than that looks super clean, super cool and it’s a great conversation price as well as being extremely handily to hold all my emergency supplies/tools/straps/cords!
