  • is very good
After using this camera tripod for a period of time, I have a few feedback points: 1. The height of the tripod is really not necessary to be so high, and it is not actually used (but providing such a height may be based on wider applicability, so it is not actually a disadvantage) 2. Very stable, at least in my usage scenarios, it can take on the role of a tripod very well, so as to ensure the stability of my camera (Sony Alpha 7 III (7M3K) 3. The workmanship of the ball head shocked me at this price, it is very good, whether it is smoothness or detail workmanship, it is almost the same as the $120 tripod I used before 4. There are many details (for example, the central axis is thicker than the legs, and the height adjustment knob is rotary, not flip-type. A sponge jacket is added to one leg, so that the tripod will not be frozen by metal in winter. The workmanship of the quick release plate is good, very practical and quick to install.) Disadvantages: 1. Not equipped with more accessories (but at this price, it is hard to say that RALENO has not done the best) 2. The installation of the monopod is not so fast and quick, it will require me to have some manual skills For the overall evaluation, I will still give it five stars, because it is difficult for me to rule out the price factor. Recommended for all beginners in photography, if you need a professional camera tripod. ... show more

  • Quality made item.
Liked the ability to convert parts of tripod to a unipod. Can use the unipod to keep the camera steady when used with my mobility chair.

  • A lot of bang for the buck here
I really like this tripod quite a bit. It folds compactly, has a ton of adjustment, and gets taller than one would reasonably need it to be while remaining pretty stable. All of the tubes and most of the other components are metal, with some plastic parts that still feel sturdy and high quality. The ball head included is really nice, especially at this price point. It seems like it's worth the asking price of the whole tripod. The quick release plate locks positively and has some adjustment, the ball is easy to move and lock into place with an easy flip to a vertical camera position, and there is a tension knob on the panoramic portion for smooth movement. A built in bubble level allows you to quickly set the camera level no matter how the tripod is set up. There are some transformer-type features. I'm not really counting on those. Possibly the ability to invert the head to the bottom of the center post for macro shots down really low could be useful. I doubt I will ever use the monopod function. Basically, you can unscrew the leg with the foam grip and reassemble it to mount directly to the ball head to make a monopod. On my unit, the leg has a gritty feeling when unscrewing which could probably be remedied by cleaning out the threads, but I don't think I'll ever use that capability so I'm not worried about it. I'm in it for the tripod features, and this one has plenty. First, the format is a bit different from a basic tripod. The tripod you can pick up at the big box store likely has box section legs attached to a collar that slides, and they are braced with pivoting pieces to make triangles. This does make for a solid structure, but this tubular tripod gets similar results a different way. It has tubular legs that fold up inverted to make a very compact form, and they swing around and then latch into place with thumb operated latches. Because the legs are stiff and sturdy and the latches lock positively without play, the resulting structure is as sturdy if not more sturdy. Additionally, you get more freedom - the legs can lock in three different positions including 90 degrees out from the column, allowing more freedom with setting up in challenging locations. Each leg has four sections with twist lock clamps to secure them at the desired position. The clamps lock firmly; I wasn't able to get a leg to move once set in place. The same style clamps lock the two-section center column in place. With everything fully extended, the quick release plate is overhead for me (I'm nearly 6' tall). The head can move a little bit in this position, but it feels like natural flex, not like something is wobbling or insecure. At more normal heights like eye level everything feels very stable and secure and I have no worries with my camera on it. Even the bag is good. It fits the folded tripod well, feels sturdy, and has a good zipper that doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart. There's a separate velvet bag to protect the ball head when the legs are folded up around it. I am sure there are professional tripods out there that make this look like a toy. I have also used some tripods that look and feel like toys compared to this. This isn't a carbon fiber, super light tripod. It's also not a beefy tripod that's going to hold a huge video camera rig. But for an inexpensive, reasonably portable tripod to use with an SLR or mirrorless camera, it is impressively good. At less than $50, it seems like a steal. I really like this a lot more than other tripods I've used. It's now the tripod I use most in my little office/studio, and it will also be the first one I reach for if I need to set up a camera out in the world. If you have special needs like the lightest tripod for backpacking or something to hold your 1000mm lens to photograph the Super Bowl, you already know this isn't what you're looking for. But if you're like me and need to set up a small camera in maybe a variety of ways, this tripod is worth more than its price. ... show more

  • exceptional bang for the buck !
It this the world’s best tripod/monopod ? of course not … is this Chinese junk ? far from it. Solid and functional with surprisingly good overall quality and performance – all at a price point that is hard to comprehend. A real bargain for beginner to intermediate photographers looking for real value at an entry-level price. RALENO checks every box - includes EVERYTHING one needs – tripod, monopod, ball head, level, stabilizing/weighting hook, velvety head bag, compact folded dimensions, even a case Just as a comparison, I’ll note I’ve got of number of high-end tripods/monopods, and, at least on paper, this RALENO tripod/monopod might be compared to my carbon Gitzo/Acratech/RRS tripod combination (also 4-section legs) – PLUS my carbon Gizo/RRS monopod - albeit my Gizto combination is ~25x the cost (yes ! ~25x). The RALENO weighs in at 1794 g (~3 lbs 11 oz with mounting plate, 1753 g without), while my carbon Gitzo/Acratech/RRS tripod (only) combination weighs in at 1930g (~4 lb 4 oz) - PLUS my carbon Gitzo/RRS monopod which alone weighs in at 1188 g (2 lbs 10 oz). So, while the compete RALENO in its bag/case weighs in at 2042 g (~ 4 lb 8 oz) and has dimensions of ~4” wide x ~5” tall x ~20”, my carbon Gitzo/Acratech/RRS tripod, Gitzo/RRS monopod, all in a Giottos bag weighs in at 3689 g (~8 lb 2 oz) with dimensions of ~30” long x ~5” diameter. The RALENO height to camera base is ~56 (and a truly crazy ~78” with both upper extensions raised), the Gitzo ~55“ and ~64” with single upper extension raised. While obviously not the high-end experience of Gizto/Acratech/RRS, the RALENO is surprisingly stable and i would have no hesitation trusting it with my full frame camera + telephoto. Some positives: • tripod convertible to monopod • legs fold back over ball head allowing a fairly compact travel/storage size (note Gitzo does NOT fold) • treaded stud ball head coupler has both 3/8-20 and 10-24 threads Some less-than-positive: • odd to include a second upper extension section – while not adding additional folded length, the second section does add additional usable height (albeit likely unnecessary) ... but comes at a cost of some stability when used with heavy cameras • all adjustments/fittings/couplings a bit rough and scratchy (silicon grease will help), certainly NOT silky smooth as with the Gitzo/Acratech/RRS • while one leg can be quickly removed (simply unscrews) and used as a monopod, moving ball head between tripod and monopod a bit awkward • while ball heads will work in a monopod application, ball heads in general, and particularly one this large, are NOT the ideal head for a monopod (a dedicated monopod head would be recommended IF/when a monopod is a primary/major use/application) While there are other similar Chinese do-it-all tripods/monopods on the market the RALENO would be hard to beat. And while there are other comparable/similar brands at this price, the RALENO should be on any short-list consideration - quite a bargain for those on a budget. ... show more

  • Great piece of kit - wish it was more stable fully extended
This tripod is lightweight, easy to set up, and handles my camera well. The ball head is good quality and is actually easily removable. I have a K&F fluid head for video work that attaches easily when I need to. It's not a light and packable as some of the smaller travel tripods, but the tradeoff is this thing gets pretty tall. Unfortunately, stability is lacking as you go higher. I don't have much need for the full length, but you definitely want to weigh it down or otherwise secure it if you're using it with the legs fully extended. I think it's plenty portable and the carry case is of decent quality. It's definitely worth picking up if you want an inexpensive tripod that punches above it's price point. ... show more

  • Performance and Features Affordably Priced
I have previously known Raleno for its video/photography LED lighting products. I’ve become a fan of those, and of their customer service. Now I’ve found the Raleno TP-60 tripod is an affordable, capable camera support for photography and video. It offers a practical balance between size, weight, useful features and affordability. The TP-60, first off, is at a good price point for the beginning photographer with a small budget, or even the avid amateur who isn’t willing to shell out megabucks for a carbon fiber tripod and a head that compounds the sticker shock. This is a great alternative to that $12 - $20 flimsy tripod you’ll find at the chain store, a few aisles down from the pet food and the toilet paper. This is a serious tripod. Those others are going to disappoint you. The Raleno TP-60 offers easy operation, with smooth clutch performance on each leg, and solid locking when in the desired position. The legs spread to multiple positions, including horizontal for low shots. Or, invert the center shaft and camera, shoot extremely low and invert the image in post processing. The rugged ball head provides strong security for most lenses and smooth panning for video or creating panoramas. And an integral bubble level assures level operation. One of the three legs is removable, and hardware is supplied to add the center post and ball head to it to create a potentially tall monopod. This is not a super quick change, but is useful if you occasionally need a monopod for, say, sports or birding. The TP-60 comes in a sturdy bag with a shoulder strap. I'd like, however, for there to be a pocket inside the bag for the monopod joining hardware and an Allen wrench that is also supplied. This is a tripod that could serve you well for years and is great for the price. So, what might you want to spend more to get? Depending upon your specific needs, there might be several things. First might be lower weight. The TP-60 is not particularly heavy, but carbon fiber tripods are generally lighter. Next might be the height you can achieve without raising a center post. Not having to raise a center post can greatly add to the stability. Another feature some find useful is a center column that can go horizontal. While I have gone to carbon fiber for my most used tripods, I find the Raleno TP-60 is perfect to have in the trunk of my car for those times when I have my camera along but didn’t pack all my gear. No tripod is the best for everyone. But the Raleno TP-60 is well designed to meet the financial and functional needs of a large percentage of the amateur/hobbyist photography market. ... show more
