Heavy-duty hexagonal (6-sided) shape and double-spiral reinforcing; permanently resists kinking that weakens water flow in common hoses. High-flow 3/4” diameter delivers 45% more water than a 5/8" hose. Robust crimped-on nickel plated, brass couplings won’t crush or bend…even when run over by a vehicle. The people that designed this really thought about how to make this simple. It does exactly what I need. Set the time and date. Set what time(s) you want it to turn on. Set what days you want it to turn on. Set how long it should run for. Turn it on auto and you are done. The only other button is a manual override on/off which helps me test the system and see what parts need replacing without affecting the schedule. It takes AAs that last at least a season so cheap to operate. I now run 4 of these to cover different areas. Only issue is 2 in a riw showed up with cracked LCD screens probably due to some errant package tossing en route. Just look them over when they arrive. I have had 4 of these for 2+ years. I used them to water our lawn while we were traveling. I put them away over winter. The only problem I've had is some leaking, especially at the top connector. I have solved this by replacing rubber washers. Programming is fairly easy. Batteries last through the summer. I put new batteries when I reconnect them in June. ... show more

Used different timers before. They never lasted long because of cheap, plastic parts. This one has metal connections and is solidly built. Others I used sounded like a part was slowly rotating inside when turned on. This one makes a quick click and water is on. Programmed time and schedule without even reading the directions. I do have a folding table outside that I placed over the timer& water valve to keep the display out of the direct sun. I use a 2 way valve where one side fills the pool and the other is a soaker hose that keeps my plants watered. Love this timer so far. ... show more

Have been using 3 of these to keep the yard watered with an above ground iragation system for the past 3 months. Has been working fine until this past week when for no reason one of the timers inlets just broke off at the base. Clean cut, didnt even look broken. Heat and weight of the timer and hose 2 feet suspended for 3 months? I'd say lemon. Giving 1 star unless rainbird decides to remedy a bad unit. Otherwise, these have been working great. Only timers I found that didnt throttle water flowrate and pressure. ... show more

We set this up to water our garden while we went away for a 10 day vacation. The water pressure from our yard faucet is pretty high, so I was a little concerned about leaving it in case it could not handle the pressure. I monitored our water use while we were away. Be careful because even though it's a soaker hose, we had nearly 5 gpm going out while it was watering. We're really happy with it. Oh and don't forget to turn on the water before you leave . . . we did that one day after we got back and wondered (for a few minutes) why the watering hadn't happened! ... show more
