Like many others, I noticed my original KitchenAid flat paddle mixer was chipping paint and no longer viable to use safely. It fits the mixer great and is an overall better paddle than the original. It is dishwasher safe, so it is easy to clean, and because it is a thick metal I don't have to worry about it chipping in the future. ... show more

I’m super happy with this attachment. Fits my KitchenAid mixer perfectly. I even feel like this attachment works better at mixing than the original attachment that comes with the mixer. It’s also super easy to clean. It’s easy to hand wash or you can just throw it in the dishwasher. Finally a stainless steel mixer I don’t know why I didn’t get one earlier since I use it a lot more now that everything can go in the dishwasher. This is a heavy, solid piece of metal. The problem is that it is too small for my 4.5 qt KitchenAid mixer. Yes, it is possible to use the adjusting screw to lower the arm so that the beater will fit properly. But then my whisk attachment won't fit and it bangs against the bottom of the bowl. I wanted a stainless steel paddle in case the coating on my original started to chip; I've heard how that can happen. It fits perfectly both in how it attaches and the size for my 5 quart KitchenAid. I find it works just as well as my original. I especially like that I can now just put it in the dishwasher which makes cleaning up a little easier. This replacement flat beater is much heavier, and more durable than the original KitchenAid flat beater. I was really happy to find one that’s made out of stainless steel, and is not coated in white paint. I needed a new one, because the paint is peeling off. It fits my KitchenAid K45 model perfectly, and is easy to attach, and take off the mixer. Hint: If the beater hits the bottom or sides of your mixing bowl while it’s on, there’s a screw that will adjust the height of the beater. If you lift the top part, as shown in the photo, there’s a screw that will adjust the height up or down. Just don’t turn it too far because it also attaches the top of the mixer to the bottom. I had to adjust mine 1/3 of a turn, to get it just right. ... show more

    • Almost the same as standard KA attachment
This is almost identical to the attachment that came with my KA Artisan mixer as far as the outer shape and size. It also fits on the machine the same way the original did. The inner part has a slightly different configuration, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference when mixing. So far I'm not seeing anything different. This is supposed to be dishwasher safe, which is a big plus. Some of the original attachments are not. I've only run it through the dishwasher once, and it was fine. Time will tell if it continues to hold up. If you need a spare, this seems perfectly fine. ... show more
