I have only used my new Kitchenaid grinder 1 time to grind two pounds of rib eye trimmings from a large rib roast. I was very surprised at how well it ground the meat. I used the larger holed screen plate. Ended up with the best homemade hamburgers ever. When finished I cleaned the whole mechanism in hot soapy water. Two washings as it is not reco'd for the dish washer. Not sure about all the negative reviews as I am very pleased. I am grinding 2.5 lbs. of additional rib roast into groundbeef today. If something goes wrong I will modify my review and if not I will stick with a 5 star considering the low price of just over $33.00 and how well it worked. ... show more

gotta put the meat and the grinder in the freezer for 20/30 minutes and make sure all the silver skin is off because otherwise its going to clog up

Loved it. So easy to attach to the Kitchen Aid mixer and it doesn't require a lot of pushing on the food pusher. The old chopper I had you had to push real hard to get the meat to be chopped. Would recommend.
