So I looked around, didn't know which one to buy really, I wanted a saddle A/C and that's all I knew. I ordered this one. When it arrived it was the most wonderful experience unpacking it. I don't know how else to explain it, but finally something was done right! Set-up wasn't hard at all. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The remote control is easy to use and understand (it would be cooler if the remotes display and buttons were lit up, but it's not an issue really) the A/C is pretty quiet, even on full blast and I have no trouble sleeping with it on quiet mode. This unit is exactly what I needed. It cools down my tiny apartment quickly, was easy to install (it was a bit tough without a second person but I made it happen), and looks great without blocking much of the window. However, it was delivered on its side despite the box having a “this side up only” warning (this can mess up the compressor), and when I opened it I found a large dent in the side of the unit. Thankfully the unit still functions, because by the time I went to exchange it the unit and most like it were all sold out because of the heat wave. I contacted customer service and they were nice enough to give me a discount for the damage, but I wish the unit were handled better (and possibly packaged better?) in the first place. Also there was a note saying to contact customer service instead of returning the unit, but it had zero customer service contact information. ... show more

    • EXTREMELY DEFECTIVE, POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD AND UNSAFE!!!!

Paid well over a grand for two units recently. Within 30 days I noticed both were having weird issues. Sounded really loud or off in one. Clunking noises. The other unit randomly turns on even tho power is off (tho no timer was made) and it makes odd, crazy sounds but displays no lights showing it's on. It will start blowing the AIR button like the FAN but will not pull hot air out like AIR should. I have to unplug these now when I am not home as they seem to be a hazard popping on like that and acting like they have electrical issues. I paid over a GRAND for two!!! At that price I shouldn't have issues on BOTH within the first 30 to 60 days. 5 days after Amazon doesn't offer a return too. Yep. I have had other air units for 10 plus years no issues. I looked on Mercari to buy another. That was when I began noticing on Mercari that some fella 'rebuilds and sells these exact brands.' He rebuilds and sells a LOT of them. That tells me something. Not safe. Defective. Air units shouldn't act like that. I want a refund on both. Seems there may be a fire hazard for them to come on while power is off and yet all lights stay off. Manufacturer has YET to return any of my calls or emails. Sad that I don't hear back from him even though it claims a one year warranty. ... show more

The concept of this is ideal. But it freezes each time I use the cool setting. With all settings it makes this loud noise that sounds like it's coming from by the spinning fan part to blow out the air. I've tried to look inside to see if there is something in the way but haven't noticed anything yet. I do question if the humidity and/or drastic drop in temp at night could be contributing to the freezing though. I've never had a window unit freeze so often though. The louder noise in the fan isn't terribly obnoxious because it's in a room not used terribly often throughout the day. This was purchased to supplement the central air of the house and direct the cool air to the commonly used areas instead of the unsued spaces throughout the day, so I can't totally vouch for the coolness. I do super appreciate being able to see out my window and have natural light. It was easy to install. I wasn't pleased with the delivery though, but that is not at the fault of the seller. My package was left ON my stairs to my house, at an angle, in the rain. I have a fully covered porch that sits up a total of 3 steps. I understand it's large and heavy, but if it's taken up 2 steps, why not finish? Especially with knowing the weather that day? I don't believe that this has caused any of the freezing or loud sounds though. I don't see how that could affect either of those. The return period has passed in my time of attempting to troubleshoot my couple issues but I don't think it's a waste, just not exactly what I was expecting. I do plan to continue keeping an eye to see if there's a reason I can pinpoint for the freezing and noises though and hopefully I can really get my money's worth with this. ... show more

I love this AC. Worth every penny. Just the design alone is worth 5 stars. It is so much easier to install with less area to seal up. Also, it is extremely quiet!! I have to check if it is even on.
