  • Good kit for such a reasonable price.
The media could not be loaded. Been messing with this for a couple of weeks now. Came well packaged with picks, straps, extra strings, etc. Wanted a guitar I could leave out and not worry about my kids damaging my expensive guitars. If I put them away, I tend to never play them as you can tell by my lack of skills. Anyways, tuned up and stretched out the strings a few times. Has held tuning well. The frets smoothed out after playing for a bit and now bends and vibrato feel good. There were no sharp fret ends either. Neck was straight. Only made small adjustment to action on low E string and that got rid of the fret buzz. Also adjusted the pickups closer to the strings. Volume and tone knobs are smooth and work well as does the pickup selector switch. The amp is small but perfect for practicing. It only lacks a bit of bottom end/base but that would be the same with any amp of this size. It still gets much louder than most will ever need as a practice amp. There is a clean and distortion channel and the tone/gain knob gives more versatility. Overall I’m surprised such a nice kit can’t be had for such a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it. You can spend hours messing with the amp and guitar to get different tones but I don’t have that kind of time. I tried to show just a couple of sounds in my video.....not demonstrate my skills, because I have none. ... show more

  • Perfect beginner guitar and setup
I'm launching into playing a guitar a little later in life and I find this beginner package to be really complete and easy to start playing a guitar. There is a lot packed into the kit: setup and use instructions, an amp, zip-up carry case, strap, tuner (this is a little gem!), extra strings, 1/4" cable, whammy bar, picks, and even allen wrenches for adjustments. The tuner is great - has settings for guitar, violin, bass, ukulele, and chromatic. The color changes to green when you're on the note and it confirms which string you're on (or should be on - big plus for beginner!). The case has a pocket for carrying extra stuff. It's a thin case but it certainly gives you a way to protect and carry the instrument. The guitar itself, I think, is beautiful. It has a dark gray "ripple" under the black gloss. Looks really cool. I started lessons this week and my instructor was impressed with how light it is and liked the options it has for choosing pickups and making adjustments. The amp isn't super complex and gives you a good variety of sound from near-acoustic to crunchy. The amp is small and easy to grab-n-go but really puts out the sound if you turn it up. Very impressive. I'm super pleased with it. I was able to pick it up the first day, tune it and start playing. Now I'm working on scales and "Smoke on the Water". Looking forward to years of use. My son picked it up as a first-timer and found it comfortable to play and he's 13. Certainly worth the 5 stars. ... show more

  • Tiny but mighty
Purchased this as a gift for my kids for Christmas. Initially I was disappointed because the amp was like, really, really small but the thing packs a punch and gets the job done. This is the perfect guitar for beginners because it's not a huge investment so if it doesn't work out, you're not out a ton of money. All in all this was a good buy and my kids have definitely got their use out of it. Tuning was a breeze and we haven't used all of the little perks that came with it but it's been fun to play around with it and learn how to play. Don't be turned off by the small size of the amp, it's still great! ... show more

  • ❤️ love at first sight ❤️
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box that it was even nicer looking than it appeared online. It was packaged nicely. Not overly protective but satisfactory nonetheless. I set it up right away with the enclosed amp which was also better than I thought it would be. The enclosed cable was ok to start to play with but I would soon get a better quality one if you are really serious. It's only like $8 or $10 bucks for something that will give you much better sound quality. It did need some fine tuning out of the box but that's why they give you a tuner and a wonderful little tuner it is. I really loved this little thing! I have several other tuners and they are heading for a drawer like never to see daylight again. It was just ridiculously easy to use. I made a few adjustments and that was it. The guitar not only looked great it also sounded great, full and rich like a much higher priced guitar. There are also a few Allen wrenches, strings, pics and a shoulder strap all of average beginner quality that are included. Overall I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this kit to a friend or to a family member. I hope that this is helpful to any potential future guitar gods and if you do happen to purchase this package I'm sure you will be as happy with it as I am. ... show more

  • Great guitar with everything you need to get started!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this guitar for my son and so far he loves it! Nice packaging, and I really like the black and silver look. Guitar seems very sturdy and sounds great. It conveniently comes with everything you need, including a portable amp which has surprisingly good sound and is easy to take with you. This was a great purchase for the money and I would definitely recommend this guitar. ... show more

  • Disappointed
The electric guitar itself is beautiful and amp sounds amazing! As far as cord and guitar strap…. Not so much! My daughter was playing the guitar first day she got it, which was Christmas, and strap broke…2 days later cord that goes from amp to guitar, already coming apart where you can see the wires… could have been a little better quality. ... show more

  • Awesome starter kit! It has humbuckers!
The media could not be loaded. Great set up for beginners or experts on a budget. A double humbucker guitar and amp for less than $200 is amazing. Guitar is a quality product. Sounds great. Amp isn't too shabby either. Wanted a little more crunch, but for less than $200, I won't complain. I'll be getting a pedal next. Totally worth it! ... show more

  • Decent for getting started
It's good for picking... But when playing full cords distorted. The sound quality is lacking... I have big hands and I find it hard to get my thumb around the neck to mute the E string... The neck is too thick... But all in all it's a good value for beginners but you'll soon want to buy a better guitar. ... show more
