Longtime furmama of 4 cats, and I've tried pretty much every kind of litter out there - the sawdust, the newspaper, the pellets, the cheap, the expensive. For price and effectiveness, this is the best brand. Go with the unscented - the perfume varieties are obnoxious, and the unscented is perfectly effective in covering odors. My living space is 650 sq ft, and with 4 plastic totes in the basement each 5+ inches deep with this litter, no one would know I have four cats. I recently had a realtor come in and tell me how impressed she was by that fact. I know cat owners often say they switch out their litter regularly - completely dump out the boxes and replace the litter - but I rarely ever have to do that. This litter clumps so effectively, it's unnecessary. I just add a few inches of fresh litter on top every few weeks. The trick is to use deep boxes (as I say I like 20-40+ gallon storage totes, SOOO much cheaper than dedicated litter boxes) - and fill them 1/3 - 1/2 full with litter. Sift the litter before scooping by lifting the sides and shifting it around so the clumps are easy to find (rather than digging for them and breaking them up). If you keep it full enough of litter, you'll never have to scrape crumbly clumps from the bottom, and with this brand, if they stick to the sides, I just give that side a hard drop on the floor and 9x out of 10, it comes loose in tact. When you have four cats, a clean and convenient litter routine is worth its weight in gold - and even better when it's also roughly $.50/lb. It took me many years to find what worked best for my situation, and this is it. Of course, they'll still manage to flick it everywhere and over time, you'll find clay coating over everything in the vicinity, so you'll want a hooded box if that's a serious issue for your space. Of course, the dust isn't good for your babies either, but I've used the expensive brands promising 99% dust-free, and they're no better than this stuff. And if you use unscented, it will probably irritate your cat's respiratory system much less. My babies are aged 7-13 and all four are terrifically healthy (knock wood). This is a wonderful product. -Zero plastic packaging that is easy to open! Just pull the string to open the bag and pour. All 3 bags fit in the 35 lb tidy cats pail I have been reusing. - One bag would perfectly fill the litter pan so nice portioning for those who chose to just use a bag at a time. -No dust cloud! - Truly does control odor for 10 days: I have two cats sharing a litter box (they are litter mates and refuse to use separate boxes) and I scoop usually every day but sometimes I skip a day and it still doesn’t stink. - I really appreciate the unscented version as all the others make me sneeze and the scent is a dead give away that you have cats. - Good price - Cats approve - great clumping. I've tried dozens of litter types and brands. This one seems to make both cats and owner happy. I would prefer to use a more environmentally-safe litter, but my cats don't care about the planet. Tidy Cats Free and Clear tics most of the boxes. No scent (super important), strong clumps, and not much dust at all. And the cats use it. Just as a Public Service Announcement, please stop buying scented litter folks! Your cat will thank you. (Actually, they won't because they're ungrateful little s***s.) If you think using scented litter masks the smell, you're only fooling yourself. You have become nose-blind, but trust me, your house smells like wildflowers that have been peed on by cats. Good litter, had to change from fresh step due to cat having allergies to all the dust. This cat litter is good, doesn't have much dust. But still does track around the house. I don't get any clumping the charcoal takes care of the urine in it so only have to scoop their poo. The only down side is when it gets close to changing time you definitely can smell the ammonia in the urine, doesn't mask any smell anymore. ... show more

Honestly as good as this litter works as good as any the cheap stuff is just all the same stuff off brands I meant to say! All the same stuff!! The best of the best if I may be so humble to share with any cat owner reading this the best best so far that I have EVA purchased I have to say ….. drumroll please …………. ;) PRETTY LITTER!!! It cost a bit more for such a smaller size bag it’s because it actually works guys !! You don’t have to keep dumping and refilling it doesn’t smell at all and I love it I don’t think I’m going back to regular litter again!! This is the best ever and I have bought many… This is like gravel does not hurt the cats paws and does not leave tracks everywhere from any kind of dust. This is definitely dust, free or minimum dust comparing tool all of the rest and when jumping out of the litter box, it does not track everywhere and that little bit that does track is easy to clean up, it’s so great. I used this for my 2 grown cats. It clumps really well making the box easier to clean. Mostly the rest of the litter stays dry leaving very little order. I don’t care for the scented litter. The case of 3 bags is perfect. I get a decent price and don’t kill myself trying to pour 20 and 40 bags. Tidy cat must remember the old stories about old ladies and their cats. I am 73 and unsteady due to an inner ear problem, it became worse after a bad fall and dragging and pouring a 40lb bag is impossible.
