I have back issues and I fell stepping out of the shower, so I bought these to help. I installed one just outside of the shower about shoulder height, and another one lower near the toilet to pull myself up off the bowl. They are extremely sturdy. They are machined very well, meaning if you put it on a flat surface it won't wobble. They are said to be made from stainless steel, so I assume they won't rust, and after several months I don't see any problems like that, even though they get wet every day from the shower steam. Best of all, the coating is just slightly textured and easy to grip even when wet. That's not to say they're abrasive at all, just not smooth and slippery. I can only speak for the black handles. In the picture, the green ones appear to be kind of slick and glossy, but I don't have those. Anyway, great purchase. I'm sure they will last many years. ... show more

Appear very strong and the long screws seem to be of ample length and strength for a secure mount in wood. I believe this is a good product. However, you should predrill holes about an inch deep for the screws, so a drill is needed, and to turn the screws to their full depth a 10 mm wrench is essential. Like other similar products, the kit contains "everything you need" except for necessary tools which likely will cost more than the handles and screws. ... show more

The handles themselves are pretty solid. The only problem is the strange "lag bolts" that come with them as mounting hardware. I have never seen anything like it, but the bolts are nail tipped, i.e. the end is an unthreaded point. The instructions state to pound them in like nails and then use a wrench the rest of the way. In practice, this does not work well. I ended up stripping one out (should never happen), and dinging up one handle. Do yourself a favor and get some normal lags and pre drill them as usual. Also, the handles are painted and not rubberized...it's hard to tell from the pictures. ... show more

Added these to my childs treehouse to give her something solid to grab onto while climbing the ladder. They are very solid handles made from steel not plastic. The screws they come with aren’t very good as they were hard to drive in, the tips were not like a regular threaded lag screw that bit into the wood. Nevertheless once I got them in the handles are solid. Would definitely recommend ... show more

Actually did not purchase this for play equipment. I needed a good grab handle to get into and out of my hot tub that was all weather and could support the weight of an adult. This did not disappoint. It was perfect, and half the price of other handles and railings.
