This is my 5th fiber laser lens and is a good jack-of-all-trades lens that has a large enough area to handle tumbler artwork, but also has a hot enough (small enough) beam to do some decent cutting. The only two odd things about this were that the included mounting adapter/spacer was a few mm shorter than my existing adapter and included with the lens was a small mirror/piece of glass that I have no idea what to do with (see the bit in the tissue paper). Maybe that small bit is for a CO2 laser? Who knows. What I do know is that this works great on my fiber laser. I have a 70x70mm and a 220x220mm lens and this 150x150mm lens fits great in the middle. It has a big enough working area for many jobs, but a hot enough beam to blast away material noticeably faster than my 220mm lens. I used this with my usual adapter (and not the slightly shorter one it came with) and had no issues. Threaded right in and ran like a champ. As with most lens, there is a noticeable amount of barrel distortion uncorrected-- so use the EZCAD2 or EZCAD3 9 point lens correction tool to sort that out before you run any jobs. It basically marks a grid and you measure some dimensions with calipers to input back into the program. It takes a minute, but you only have to do it once and once those numbers are in the program, it automatically corrects the beam path to match your design. That is, my 50mm squares are 50mm on all sides and perfectly square. No distortion. Otherwise, nothing much else to note, besides that it worked great. The threads on the lens are the standard M85 and I think the adapter threads are M78? Regardless, both sizes are standard for galvo fiber lasers (unless you buy one of the oddball ones that uses tiny lenses-- which, don't do that, those machines are terrible), so you should be good to go. I saw no flaws or issues with the lens. Opex is a pretty well known brand for fiber laser lenses, so no surprise that the quality looks to be on par with their reputation. ... show more

Other lens on left compared to this 70mm on right. Same settings. Other lens applied heat and did not penetrate. 70 quickly digs into steel.

  • Great lens for engraving
This is a nice lens to replace an existing lens on a fiber laser engraving machine. Took a little bit to fine tune (which almost all lenses do) but makes foe clean lines, like a brand new engraver again. 4 🌟
