  • Excellent Tone, Value, Sustain and Craftsmanship!
Color: Fire Red Burst
This is my second Paul Reed Smith and let me tell you, you get the Amazing Paul Reed Smith sound with an added tonal quality you’d expect from a hollowbody. Beautiful sheerness and clarity with the bridge humbucker; smooth bell-like tones in the middle position and a nicely rounded smooth tone at the neck position. For jazz, blues and cleaner tones, this will be my Go To guitar. Has a more robust tone that cuts through without killing your ears. I personally like the neck position for overdriven tones on blues styles and middle position for clean tones. The tone knob responds well for the warmer jazz tones For rock and metal, this guitar holds up better than expected. Very nice distortion tones at the bridge with excellent string articulation. In fact, I get better articulation compared to my PRS SE Custom 24. The volume knob when rolled back stays true to your tone and doesn’t lose luster. For country, tones are too bright at the bridge and a bit too warm in the middle and bridge position. I wouldn’t stray from using this guitar, but doesn’t have that Fender Strat or Tele “pop”. Certainly could roll back the tone knob on the bridge position. The most impressive quality other than its tone is the unexpected long sustain! I could not believe how much this baby holds up with sustain! I’d put this up against a Les Paul for sustain. The mahogany top and nut to peg ratio is excellent. Only con for me is the tuning gears are chrome and the pickup frames take away from the beauty of the body! I will be replacing both. Black chrome tuning gears and black pickup frames. Grades: (1-10) Worst to Excellent: Quality: 10 Craftsmanship: 10 Value: 10 Looks: 8 (but could be a 10 with black pickup frames) Feel: 9 - Nicely balanced, Light and lays well on body both seated and standing with strap. Thicker neck, but still fast. Tone: 10 on all positions Pickups: 10 - pleasantly responsive and surprisingly hotter than expected. Genre grades: Rock/Metal Tone: 10 Jazz: 10 Blues: 10 Country: 6 Classical: 9 I highly recommend this guitar for those seeking a hollowbody guitar. I’d put this guitar up against any other brand name models on the market for the price and value. This is definitely going to be one of my “go to” guitars for both recording and live performances....when we can do that again! ... show more

  • If your thinking about buying a PRS anything go for it!
Color: Fire Red Burst
If your thinking about buying a PRS anything go for it! I had some concerns about buying a guitar from Amazon. I wondered if it would arrive in one piece and how badly it would be setup. These concerns were completely unfounded. My new PRS arrived packed in it hard shell case with some added internal foam added so it could not move around. The hard shell case was enclosed in a nice sturdy box with added bubble rap for extra protection. Now as for the PRS SE Hollow body Standard guitar. The fret work is very good, with no high spots that I can find. The setup right out of the box is 99% spot on. I could not set it up better myself. The pickups are hotter than my Les Paul and Ibanez and sound perfect through my Orange Amp. The neck is on the fat side like a Les Paul but is very playable. The workmanship of the build is outstanding. I would say if you’re a beginner, a PRS is what you want to start with. It’s much easier to learn on a guitar that is not fighting you. I’ve added a photo of the Hard Shell Case so you can see what your also getting with the guitar. ... show more

  • Gorgeous Guitar!
Color: Fire Red Burst
While I have been playing all of my life I've never gotten past the bedroom, I just like to play for my sake. Whenever I need a break I grab my guitar, it's my beer time without the beer... I've had an inexpensive Epiphone acoustic and recently a less than $200 Strat look alike. Both have been fun and served my purpose. But then I caught some kind of bug and decided I want to try a really good guitar. Plus my grandson is starting lessons and I need to think about his future as well. I got another major brand but starting with shipping issues and the fact it not only came out of tune it wasn't set up at all. They suggested I take it in and pay to have it set up. That's like here's your new car but you can't drive it yet until you take it in and spend some more money to get it going, give me a break. I started researching PRS and the more I learned about them I thought they were worth a try. Wow! That's what I've been saying since I got this. It is such a beautiful guitar and sounds so good it's one of those things I can't stop, I just have to pick it up and play! And that's what's so great as a hollow body, it sounds so good as an acoustic and fantastic with an amp! I expected it to be out of tune when I got it but that is all I had to do. It was setup well enough for my playing. I understand professional players like them to be setup specifically but it came with no issues. The color, trim, detail look great. The neck is smooth and slick. And the guitar is light with the hollow body. I've had so much fun already making so many different sounds switching between the pickups let alone with the amp. It came with a nice hard case but I did get a stand for it so I can always see it. But this thing is so cool it should be mounted on the wall! ... show more

  • Case was shipped damaged
Color: Fire Red Burst
The axe is fantastic, the case it came in was damaged by what looks like a utility knife slicing through the outside of the case material.

  • Wow…. Just wow….
Color: Fire Red Burst
This is my third Paul Reed Smith. And I’m so glad I got it. I’ve always wanted a hollow body, never had the extra funds to get a nice one, didn’t want to waste on a basic one. I play a lot of metal and stoner doom, so I never thought I would need this type of axe. How wrong I was lmfao. It’s so nice to kick back and play some acoustic melodies on this and just groove out to some blues licks. The tone is like sweet, sweet honey. It’s also sexy af. I think it’s the most gorgeous one out of my collection. I honestly think it’s my favorite next to my PRS McCarty 594. Just get it what’re you waiting for ? ... show more

If you don’t have a hollow body in your collection, this is the one to get! Love this way over a 335 Gibson!
