After using it for a month, I can say that this provides good support for your back, but I wouldn't say great. I think it should be just a little bit more thicker and more firmer. Especially since the firmness does wear down over time, like most cushions. The lower back mode only gave me some moderate support. The upper back mode works better for me, but still lacking some support. Note. These are not complaints at all, I'm just mentioning that, for me, the support is good and not perfect., I like to use this combined with another type of cushion to get me to my perfect support mark. I use this for my office chair and some days I am in this thing literally all day, so I can definitely say that it does work and it does help. With a little more cushion power, it would be perfect. **I'm editing the first impression review and upping the stars. I found at least one chair (and car seat too) that this lumbar pillow design works quite well with. In fact it eased my sore back from sitting in a wooden chair working on computer upgrades. Turned my back to feeling fine and I enjoyed the support right where it was needed. On the chairs I previously used with this support pillow, it just wasn't suited well (as you can read from my first impression review below). I did find a chair or two after a while that this lumbar support pillow worked well with, see my photos. The adjustable straps do hold the pillow well onto the back of the chair pictured in front of the computer and I felt back relief sitting there doing my work. I have to mention that the info documents that come packaged with the pillow are top shelf and quality made and shows just how much the designer believes in this product. It's got support contact info, shows other products made by this designer who wants his name on the products so this to me shows pride in his work. I'm adding 2 stars to my previous review. After using this pillow a little longer I now have a better opinion of it. Previous Review: On some chairs that I needed lumbar support for this product just doesn't do that well. It is quite bulky in the kidney bean shaped sides and top wing sections, they protrude up your back to just under your shoulder blades. I don't need any support there. In fact in certain chairs it becomes rather uncomfortable using this pillow, causing pressure points where I don't need support at all. On some smaller chairs it makes you sit uncomfortably too far out on the edge of the chair because the pillow is sort of bulky behind your back. That lower cutout between the side wings prevents the cushion bottom from laying flat. That design must be intended but it's going to require using it on the right chair I think. You can look at my pictures and decide what kind of chair you imagine this would work best on. So, this pillow will give you support for your lumbar and a lot of your back and yet maybe only on specific kinds of chairs. ... show more

    • Excellent, thick and comfortable lumbar support pillow. Mine goes wherever I sit.
I've tried several lumbar support pillows, and for the most part they all work very well at first, but with continued use they tend to flatten out and then don't help. This lumbar support pillow has already lasted almost a month, and I carry it from my office chair to my favorite chair in the living room. It's exactly the type and shape of support I need. This pillow is thicker and better made than most of my old lumbar support pillows. It's dark gray and orange, and I could do without the orange color in the center but am not going to complain over the color. I'm short, and I can't sit back fully in my office chair because for some reason it's too far for me, but the extra thickness in this pillow is wonderful. You can also take this in the car, but I didn't want to do that because you really need to use the straps that come with it for using it in the car. I want this pillow to stay with me at all times when I'm working or reading or whatever. I did try the straps in the car, and they're easy to manage. I like the warmth and feel of the pillow in my office chair, which is faux leather and not very user friendly when it's cold outside. I work at home, so my office chair gets lots of use, and this lumbar pillow has changed how my back feels when I get out of my chair so that it's not immediately painful when I stand up. The pillow has a mesh backing to keep cool, and the cover can be removed and washed. It's very well made and sturdy, and it does exactly what the seller claims it will do. I love the way this lumbar support pillow fits my lumbar and a little bit of my thoracic spine. It's thicker than the average lumbar support pillows I've had, and it feels wonderful. I used this for over three weeks before reviewing it to make sure it didn't collapse after a week of use, and it still works as well as it ever did. I highly recommend this excellent, thicker than usual, and very well made lumbar support pillow to anyone with back pain. ... show more

    • Not In My Office Chair
It only took me about 10 minutes to decide that this pillow was never going to work in my chair. It is just to big and the spinal support is so rigid that it actually hurt more than it helped. My husband rapidly came to the same conclusion when he tried it in his chair. I was thinking that it might work in my Jeep but nope, it is just to big, pushing me up into the dashboard and putting my knees at a really uncomfortable angle. It is made of what appears to be quality materials and it has a chair strap to keep it in the chair. I am not willing to right this off completely because I have severe back issues and part of the problem could stem from that but it just won't work for me. ... show more
