Shopped for more than an hour for these bad boys since they needed to work, in wilds of Maine that had no cell service. The appearance may be cheap plastic, at least to folks old enough to remember the StarTac or even CB radios of yore, but they are relatively rugged and do their job extremely well. Not a life changer fortunately but for groups that contain shutterbugs or others who dawdle behind the group in forest or ocean waters, these are just the thing to end problems. Like what Waze did for directions. The tech is solid. You keep it on and it doesn't make a noise unless the other party calls. I bought these for my granddaughter. We live on 15 acres. They work really well and charge pretty fast. And they are very clear. So if she is outside and needs someone inside she can talk on it and it reaches from the front of property to back. Bright yellow sturdy little hand held devices. Very easy to use and a great price. She is 12 so though she mostly uses as a toy it is definitely great for adult use as well: fishing, hunting…. need a safety device this could be used. I wish I had these as a child! I wanted more information on functions and some examples. Overall it sounds good, works like it says, have only put its first charge on I’m not sure how much power they come with but the ran out of power fairly quickly. And it got here quickly.

We moved across the country and drove 2 separate vehicles. We needed to keep in touch while we were driving and didn't want to use our phones. The walkie-talkies worked out well. The volume was good and since we were always directly behind each other or within a couple of car lengths, the reception was good. We charged them before we left home and we drove for 3 days and we didn't have to recharge them. We didn't use them constantly, but they held their charge. Perfect for the money. ... show more

Yes they are cheap but they do not work well at all. Many times you hit the button and talk but nothing happens and sometimes the other person can hear you without hitting the talk button. Do not buy.

Takes a little time to figure out how to use them, but when you get it down they work pretty good. I left my home in SUV drive up and down hills and by trees, wife inside house , we talked clearly for 4 tenths of a mile. We are gonna use them on road trip to mountains with friends driving 2 Mazda Miata’s MX-5’s…just a day trip. I believe they will work up to a good mile or so….I’ll try to add how good and far they work when we get back…for part two….plus battery life. ... show more
