Can you say obsessed? I purchased a box of the Pro Bar Base Mint Chocolate bars as a try out to find a good tasting, good for me protein bar to carry while hiking for several days. These bars were perfect. They didn't melt in my pack, they were so yummy and had great ingredients! After my hiking trip, I had half a box left or so I thought! My husband and my 11 year old started taking them in place of their regular granola bars to school and work. Now I order a box every two weeks, and hide one. Yummy, chewy, like a thin chocolate Oreo cookie covered with a layer of chocolate sauce, and the inside 1/2" is chewy flavored mint with chocolate bits in it. The bar has 20g protein which is very high amount of protein. One full bar is 280 cal and I can't eat a whole one at one time. It is filling and can take the place of a meal if you want. I am now on a monthly delivery of a box or more after buying them for much more money at the local stores. You do not feel guilty eating one because of the nutritious contents. ... show more

    • Great ingredients, funky taste
So, I struggle getting enough protein into my diet. I've turned to bars to help supplement my protein in-take. I can say that I was eating another NON-GMO 'minty' protein bar almost daily, but I decided to find something with even better ingredients. First, the ingredients in this bar are top notch. Honestly, I researched protein bars for organic this and that, NON-GMO, blah, blah, blah. Well, I must have spazzed out because I bought this even though I am committed to completely eliminating soy from my diet. My fault, not this bar's fault. Other than it being based on Soy Protein, the ingredients are fantastic for a high-protein bar. Second, the taste is well....okay. So, I prefer 'minty' chocolate protein bars in terms of flavors. I just don't like the taste of this at all. I have an entire box and I barely ate half of one in about a week. Maybe, it's the tapioca in there that's giving off this particular funky taste. I like the soft and slightly crunchy texture, but the taste is not all there. It's also kinda crumbly, chalky at the top layer. I recommend eating this with coffee (best method) or a different liquid to help it go down. I'm only deducting one-star for the taste. I've had better protein bars and more vile protein bars. Ehh. Protein bars are hard to review, just like protein shakes. After all, they are there to do a job--add protein and help with muscle growth/recovery, not for enjoyment. ... show more

    • Recent deliveries are all too hard to chew
I have these on auto delivery, and the last 4 boxes of these have been too hard to chew, like mint bricks. We have switched back to trying to buy these in local stores because they are not edible. The flavor is still good, but you may chip a tooth trying to eat these. Just a heads up to anyone sorting by most recent reviews. ... show more

I think if I sliced up the mint chocolate it'd be my own thin mint cookies. I thought I'd hate mint (not a big fan of it except in girl scout cookies, actually!) but I really liked this flavor, as did my teen daughter, who wouldn't even try it at first as she isn't usually fond of mint. Then she ate all my dang bars! The PB and Cookie Dough were 'eh' for us. Sadly, the carb count in these makes them off limits in general for me but low sugars isn't anything they claim so I didn't mark it down for that. I think that flavor of this brand is the best tasting protein bar I've ever had, and I've tried too many to recall for counting. Maybe the next-best that I recall is the white chocolate strawberry of the "Combat Crunch" brand. ... show more

For those who are plant-based and need a quick meal replacement option - or to keep something with them while traveling, etc. to ensure they always have something to eat these bars are perfect. I think they are delicious and am relieved that they fit my vegan, plant-based diet. I wouldn't go so far as to say they fit the whole food criteria but they are certainly better than nothing when you're in a crunch situation. ... show more
