  • Best of the four harnesses I tried for bari
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
I played bari in high school and used a regular neck strap except when marching. Worked just fine for years. Fast forward to being in my 40s, and the neck strap alone just wasn't cutting it when I finally got my own bari. :) I tried the cheap harness that came with the bari, a Jazzlab saxholder, and the Gemini harness. None of them worked well for my tall, thin frame with bony shoulders. I decided to try the Pro Tec before springing $$$ for the Vandoren harness contraption that Leo P. uses, and I'm glad I did!! This harness is amazing. Super comfortable, easy to adjust, and never slips. I'm used to constantly adjusting my neck strap between songs, but this harness stays exactly where I put it. Buy it. You'll like it. ... show more

  • Seems better than other harnesses I’ve used
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
This one is easier to put on. The clip can be adjusted fairly easily. Hopefully it wears well over the years.

  • Easier on the neck, but harder on the thumb
Size: Small Style: Harness
I got this because a regular neck strap was giving me neck pain, and while my neck is now happy, my right thumb is not. Hanging on this harness (I guess on any harness, not just this one), the saxophone hang point is around mid-chest rather than at the neck level. Which means as you push the sax away from your body with your right thumb, the thumb gets a lot more downward load from the weight of the instrument than with a neck strap. So far I'm okay to trade off neck pain for some thumb discomfort, but I may have to go back to looking for other solutions. ... show more

  • Excellent product
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
Tenor and Alto Pro Player. 6'0 160 Lbs. Very good quality. Very comfortable, adjustable, and functional for a precise fit. I am very happy. There are no physical limitations. This can be worn under a sport jacket and you would never see it. No more pressure on your neck, cervical spine and your carotid arteries! Well worth it. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Works well for bari sax, metal clasp a must, supports weight well
Size: Small Style: Harness
Son needed harness for staring bari sax. Needed metal clasp for durability (he says, “I can get away with plastic clasp for tenor and alto, but wouldn’t trust it for bari.”). He’s 5’8 and this fits well for bari use. He says the pad is comfortable, and the weight of the bari is supported through the harness attachment on the back of the pad and through the cross chest strap, so the shoulder pads do not collapse around his neck cutting into it. (He had this problem with Neotech super harness). The bari attachment strap is connected to a chest cross strap and is not stationary and can slide side to side, so he can move the sax holding position from side holding (when sitting) and more front-holding while standing easily without the shoulder pad moving around or need to adjust the harness length. With other harness where the support strap is directly attached to the shoulder pads, to adjust the hold, he has to either readjust he harness length on one side or leave the length unchanged and allow the shoulder pad to slide lopsided to deal with the hold change, which resulted in crumpled shirt around his neck. This cross-brace design does not have this problem. ... show more

  • Great straps for saxophone!
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
My son loves this strap better than other one. He using this for his baritone saxophone and is starting in marching band. This has padding and helps reduce feeling heavy stress on his shoulder and back and neck.

  • Straight Forward and Very Good!
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
I am a newbie to saxophone and have been watching and listening to veteran players since I ordered mine. One theme that stuck out to me was that many veteran saxophone players kept mentioning neck issues. After all it is a relatively heavy instrument to hang from your neck. I first bought a padded neck strap and it’s fine but I know that I did not want to start issues with my neck from the start and decided to buy a harness style strap for my tenor. As a beginner, I knew that I would be spending hours with my tenor practicing and this is very comfortable for me to use. I am a larger 6 ft 1in male. Perhaps it may not be the best solution for the ladies. It only takes a few seconds to put on and get going. The adjustments seem to stay put better than my neck strap which over time seems to slowly pull down. This is a win for me practicing 2-3 hours a day in total comfort. ... show more

  • Doesn't fit a big dude
Size: Large Style: Neck Strap
Bought this in the hopes of lugging around my baritone sax. This probably works well for someone if it fits them. I am 6'3 and broad chested, it was too small for me. Returned.
