Top Amazon Reviews

  • Nice and secure
Size: Pro
The folks at K&M must've read one of the previous reviews that suggested putting a star washer in the hinge joint because the one I received came with them. Together with the plenty-large (approx. 5/8") knobs, this rack stays tight and keeps the harmonica nice and secure and in a comfortable playing position. At least for me, and at least for now. And I don't foresee having any troubles with it in my lifetime. FYI, I'm what you might call a mediocre amateur who plays Neil Young and Bob Dylan style harmonica while also playing guitar for my own enjoyment and for my friends (you'd have to ask them if they enjoy it too!). I don't know, maybe if you play blues style you might put more pressure on the rack while playing. I wouldn't know, but this thing works great for me. Worlds better than the old piece of junk I had for 40 years before this one. I really like the design of the hinge joint. It has a piece of Delrin, or similar plastic, that serves as an anchor for the fixed end of the spring that holds the harp, which extends down to the hinge joint where it forms a "Y" with the steel part, and the piece that goes around your neck gets sandwiched between the two along with the star washer to form a non-slip joint. (I can't make heads nor tails of this description on re-reading, so I guess I'd better include a photo to show you what I mean.) The only two things I can think of as negatives are: 1 - I find it difficult to change from one harmonica to another while wearing the rack, which can be annoying since it seems like every song I know is in a different key and I end up changing harmonicas a lot between songs. This is mostly because of the strong spring tension that holds the harp securely though, so I can't really complain about it. 2 - The little beard-hairs just below my lower lip get caught between the harmonica and the rack once in a while, like when I try to change harmonicas without removing the rack from around my neck. OUCH! But it shouldn't be a problem unless you're a scraggly old aging hippie like I am. I just got this contraption yesterday though, and these minor annoyances might well resolve themselves with a little experience. They don't rise to the level of taking stars away from my rating anyway. Bottom line is that this thing does just what it's supposed to do for me and is comfortable to boot. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. ... show more

  • excellent quality from manufacturer

I didn't know what to expect; I'm new to harmonica playing. This device is so easy to use; comfortable, and you can instantly tell it is a high level of quality manufacturing. From Germany.

  • Very sturdy harmonica brace…
Size: 16416.000.55
Larger than I expected. Works well. No complaints. You just really can’t tell unless you try it on first.

  • Holds tight.
Size: Pro
Other harmonicas holder were flimsy or would hold tight even though I hurt my fingers trying to tighten a wind nut. These have a very solid nut that i can get a firm grip on. They don't slip. Very pleased.

  • Comfortable and sturdy
Size: Pro
The holder is very easy to slip on and off and holds the harmonica firmly. Also like the additional clips that support the back of the harmonica and keep it from being pushed out. Large knobs make it very easy to tighten or loosen the hinges. I love it!

  • Fits and stays in place.
Size: Pro
It fits me perfectly. Very sturdy. It's a little heavier than my old one but that seems to help it stay in place and not be moving around on me. I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend.

  • It works and stay out better than my old one.
Size: Pro
I've had a harp holder for many years. It has one wing nut on the brace to hold it and it started slipping while I was playing. So I decided to try this one. I use it all the time now. It felt odd at first like it was shorter which makes it right up next to you mouth pretty much all the time. Well anyone that plays harmonica with one of these braces and does so, so they can play guitar and sing at the same time knows that having the harp right in front of your face that close can be challenging. I don't use it all the time and the first couple times I used it I didn't really like it. I did like the fact that it didn't seem to slip like the old one but the last few times that I used it I didn't notice it being odd or uncomfortable. I think it's a matter of just getting it in the right spot. ... show more
