I am using these for an inside gate of electric to keep the goats away from the regular gate (they will rub on anything and the gate was the only think that didn't have a hot wire on it). They are very functional, however, I miss the part at the end that has some spring action to help tighten and give somewhat. These are just a solid piece without that spring action. These insulated gate handles are very sturdy and really well built. I like the design, and the oversized handle gives you a nice secure area to grip onto and not worry about getting shocked. Seems like these will last a really long time.

These are inexpensive electric fence gate handles. The insulated portion is generously sized with flares on either end and easy to grip without accidentally slipping to touch the electric fence. My only complaint is that this is a 5 pack when I typically run three strands of fence, meaning it isn't quite enough for two gates. Even so, the price is reasonable. ... show more

I use electric fence tape around my garden to keep the kritters out. I have used several insulated gate devices but this one is best so far. The large hook works well with insulators, wire or polytape fencing. The handle has about 3 inches of spring action to keep tension on the fence. At less than $3.00 each they are a real bargain.
