    • Works well if you know what you're using it for. It's a small indoor space heater; not a furnace.

I will review this in the capacity in which I have used it. So far, I'm using it to keep a ~150 sq. ft. bedroom ~5-8°F warmer than the rest of the house. So far, this unit has been performing well. The tip-over safety is a spring-actuated button that is depressed by the weight of the unit. So if it falls over, the spring releases a switch somewhere and power is immediately cut. On the shelf I have the unit located, this button isn't a problem, but I will admit it makes the unit feel a little more "tippy" than one might expect. It's not very heavy, and the spring makes it feel even less so. This may be fixable by reducing the spring k-factor or centering the button more within the unit, as it's location is biased a bit toward one corner. (Note: manufacturer potential changes; I don't recommend trying to do this yourself). I don't consider this a major detriment, as you shouldn't put a heater on an unstable surface anyway, but be aware that some solid footing underneath is a good idea and keep it out of the way of potential traffic or flying objects. Again, if it does tip, the power cutoff is immediate. The thermostat seems to work well, and was the primary reason I selected this product (along with included safeties). As previously mentioned, it keeps the room it's in at a consistent 5-8°F warmer than the rest of the home when left on the partial power setting. It took some experimenting with the thermostat position, as it doesn't have temperature markings on it, but about 30-35% of full scale is where I have it set. That seems to be ~70°F control temperature for the room size and R-value. It also implies there is a fair amount of margin to run the unit harder than I am. One more thing to note is that it says right on the box, in slightly different words, that this unit is not meant to run a high duty cycle. I don't think it would work well in large rooms or in something like a hunting blind that's very drafty/open to outside. It's meant for relatively small rooms with relatively small heat losses so it doesn't have to run 100% of the time. I haven't tested the over-temperature function yet, and don't really intend to. Generally, relying on the safety limit isn't a good plan anyway. Long story short, for a smaller room that just needs warmed up a bit, this works well. It seems simple and well made, especially for the low price tag. It has some safety features not found on similarly priced models, which is a plus. I'm working from home at a computer and I get cold since I'm not moving around to stay warm. I needed a small space heater to just heat up my immediate area so I don't have to turn the thermostat up. I looked at so many before I decided on this one. It works perfectly and I'm extremely happy with my choice!! I didn't want a tiny one for my desk that only blew on my face. It's small, but not tiny so it takes up very little space. I wanted it to automatically adjust the heat so I'm not having to manually adjust it all the time. The temperature control knob really works for that. I've only needed to use the low setting since it's right next to me and it heats up my immediate space very quickly. I'm surprised how infrequently it has to run to keep me warm since I have an open floor plan and I'm in a corner of a large room. I was concerned that it was going to try to heat the whole room up, but it doesn't try to do that. Also, I wanted it to be very safe. I like that it has both overheat & anti-tip protection. The light on the front reminds me that it's on so I can unplug it when I'm done working. It came with a letter from the founder of Pro Breeze thanking me for my purchase and offering to extend my 1-year warranty to 2-years if I register my heater on their website within 7 days of my purchase. It was very easy to do that with no long survey or unrelated questions that you know they're going to use to sell your info to other companies. Only my name and email address. The Pro Breeze ceramic space heater is an economical answer but make sure it is adequate for your heating needs. It has two power settings, 750 watts and 1,500 watts. At 1,500 watts, that produces about 5,100 BTUs of heat. This is generally sufficient to heat a 150 square foot area with 8 foot ceilings. If you have higher ceilings (we have 10 foot ceilings) it will be less effective. This heater is very compact, measuring 6.5” X 5” X 9”. It has a fan which blows out the warm air in one direction. You need to position the heater so that the warm air can spread most effectively. It works best if you can position the heater in one corner and direct/face the heater toward the area you wish to heat. There are three settings – fan only, low heat and high heat. The heater is equipped with an automatic shutoff if the heater tips over. The shut off switch is a spring loaded button on the bottom of the heater. Unless it is depressed – sitting firmly on a surface – the heater will not work. This heater puts out warm air immediately after turning on. The effective heating range is about 3 – 4 feet directly in front of the heater. It will eventually heat up the area but it does take a little time. Our master bathroom is the most distance from the central heating unit, so on really cold days, it gets a bit chilly in the master bath. We use it very effectively when taking a bath/shower. This is intended to be supplemental heat and it works well. It is a good value for the price. ... show more

A little heater, at a moderate price, so I had no great expectations, but it turned out to be a really nice product. The heater is nicely finished in matte black with clear white range and position markings. It is quiet in operation and it broadcast a lot of heat. I use mine while watching TV when the temperature outside drops dramatically and baseboard hot water heat takes a bit to catch up. An other nice feature is a long power cord, so it is easy to plug into an outlet and have enough cord slack to place it as desired. ... show more
