I am on a community well water system with approximately 150 other residents. Installer, plumber says it is quality components. I have had two other softners and this is the largest and produces the largest quantity of soft water between regeneration. The water is softer than the other 2. I did have whole house filters that seems to allow a lot of calcium, iron and chlorine to get through. I have not tested the water yet because the plumber said I needed to give it a month or two to allow the new system to dissolve some of the scale that had collected in the pipes over the last 30 years. The TDS of the water from my faucets are about the same as before around 1060, however the TDS of my reverse osmosis system dropped from 26 to 22 with the same filters. My water from my faucets no longer leaves white residue in my sinks and on the fixtures. There is no longer the strong smell of chlorine. My layman opinion is, that this is a quality system that has greatly improved my water quality. ... show more

    • Poor Customer Service and Product Support
Ordered this product for our home well. Setup and installation was straightforward. The iron/sulfur filter came programmed incorrectly. This unit has been installed for about 8 months. I've contacted customer service for multiple issues. They only way to contact them is through a webpage form. The worst part is they changed their filter sizes from industry standard 20" to a proprietary 19.5". However, if you are like me and your pre-filter needs to be replaced more frequently than 6 months, you will still have to purchase the full set of $150 filters. Also, if Pro Aqua goes out of business, due to terrible customer service and poor products, you will have to reinvest in a new filter housing. ... show more

    • Quality is good, you will need to buy more parts
So my experience is ok, the quality of the product is good. I am not happy with the plastic fittings because it feels like a future failure point but these are the standards of today. The 3 units seem slightly different in design and do not come with a kit so there is additional costs to this install. A few things that bothered me: The set is threaded for 1inch but the homes here, and my experience with homes has been mostly plumbed 3/4 after the pressure tank so you may need adapters and reducers and some extra hoses. There are not enough hoses to link one to each other so you will need to buy supplies. 1inch threaded pipes are limited in the 2 major chains here as 3/4 is the more popular and a cheaper size. And reducers mean more fittings and more cost… Each set of instructions are straight forward for each unit but not at first clear installing the set in proper order. Constructive suggestions: Included an install kit to link (with hoses) all three units together as it was sold as a set. Included a manual on installing all three in proper order. ... show more

This water softener is excellent, functioning as expected and was simple to install. I encountered issues with the valve on the water filter unit and contacted customer service via email. Easy to install. The best part was the customer service. I emailed with a question and had a response in under 5 minutes. Once I got the water turned on there was a broken connection on the filter unit. I contacted them again in 10 minutes I had a new filter bracket on the way. I've received no support whatsoever on this system. Softener is putting too much salt in the water and was just looking for support on how to back off the amount of salt. My guess is reduce the amount of water in the brine tank, so adjust the setting that controls that - which I'm assuming is the Brine time (Regen, Backwash, Brine, Rapid Rinse, Water Filling are the cycles). Anyhow, google research left me with and ideal 8-10" of water is supposed to be in the brine tank (mine was at about 24" using the default settings). Poorly written manuals with insufficient detail.     • Terrible warranty
Do not buy this product. Our soft water tank broke within one year. We hired a plumber to do the install properly. We had to engage the services ($$) of a plumber to diagnose the issue and even after sending plenty of photos that they requested and proving the problem, they wanted us to go through additional steps. Guess what, another plumber visit ($$). I don't think so. It would have cost us more on plumbers than to pay them a retail price for just the soft water tank. They do not stand behind their product or trust their customers. Buyer beware! There are less expensive systems out there locally with better companies that stand behind their warranty. ... show more

The filter and water softener work great but I have to give the system as a whole only 2 stars. In the year I have had it each of the three gauges have broken off at the base resulting in flooding of my garage. At first I thought a single failure was a fluke but it has happened for the 3rd time. All three gauges are now replaced. ... show more
