    • Fun, but instructions are comedically poor
All pieces were present, they were reasonably well manufactured (aside from a few easily corrected imperfections that I'd expect with a wooden kit like this) and it was enjoyable to build with my son. Be aware though, the box & description says "ages 3+" and that's not even close. Most pre-teens are going to have some difficulty assembling this - arguably a lot adults without some basic shop skills might struggle a bit to get it all glued together. The "instructions" are a series of steps printed in faded color on the box that jump very quickly from a couple of pieces to a mostly finished product, and there really isn't enough paint to give it a consistent color - we ended up doing multi colored stripes and using almost all of it. Overall, this is a fun parent/child building project and we're hopeful that some of our smaller birds might make use of it, but if you leave it to your child they're going to get frustrated, and given the quality of it I'd say it's slightly overpriced. ... show more

The pieces are all here, but it isn't at all like the Lincoln Logs I had as a child. The instructions are in the box and they aren't detailed in the least, so do what you can with what you have. We finished ours, and it was a great thing to do with my daughter. The glue bonds well and dries quickly. Some of the pieces don't quite fit well, so you may need a sanding block/paper. The roof "shingles" were the most difficult part, because some are flat and others curved, so I just put them up "Willy Nilly". Overall, it was a fun experience, and now I'd like to purchase more DIY kits so that my daughter and I could do one every now and again. ... show more

I was excited to build and add this log bird house to my collection. It includes everything you willed. As I was building it I immediately noticed several logs were uneven so they didn't sit right. I ended up having to get more glue. There's not enough paint so it turns out blotchy. I was disappointed how it turned out. ... show more

Instead, this is more of a house decor item. There’s really no instructions other than assembling according to photos. The parts are glued in place so don’t expect this to last outside.     • Cute, but.....
This is a really cute birdhouse. I love the Lincoln log style design and the fully wood pieces. That being said, the attachment for the pieces is a small bottle of glue. I can't see this holding together outside for any length of time. Also, the way that the piece go together doesn't make it easy for a child to assemble without frustration because it easily get skewed. The roof pieces need to be assembled glued and dry prior to putting on the house. It includes paints and a very small brush, but there isn't enough for a child to really personalize anything. I'd pass unless an adult assembles it and you buy additional paint. ... show more

I ordered this as a project for me and my 8 year old daughter. She was super frustrated as was I with the instructions making assembly a chore! Some pieces are straight while others aren't making it hard to glue. Not enough glue or paint included in my opinion. Size is pretty small and doesn't seem very sturdy.
