Should I Buy It?

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars It does the job
Color: Push Mower
I have had this one for a year now. I mow 1/2 acre every week during the spring/summer and the mower is only recommended for use up to 1/4 acre, so I know I’m getting the most out of it’s performance. I did make some adjustments, however. I first changed the blade. The stock blade is not good. I bought a replacement after the second outing because the stock blade just isn’t tough enough for my yard. Then, since I’m a short person, I cut about 2.5 inches off the ends of the handle and drilled some new holes to reattach it. The shorter handle makes this mower much easier to use for shorter people. It’s a good, cheap investment. Definitely worth the money ... show more

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars What you expect from China
Color: Push Mower
Yes, everyone else's Name-brand mower is also made in China. But if you're looking at this (the cheapest mower WITH a bagger attachment) you kind of already expect it to lack some quality. Honestly - the mower isn't terrible. The horizontal engine with the gearbox drive works well, and I kinda like that the mower blade is not connected directly to the crankshaft. Impacts that would normally shear off a keyway will just cause slippage of the belt instead. The reason I gave this only 2 stars is because I'm disappointed in the customer service. Frankly - the good customer service reviews (that I read before I bought this) are what convinced me buy it. The cheap plastic ears on the rear-flap for the bagger are too weak to hold the pressure from the two torsion springs. Plastic ear flexed, flap popped off the hinge, and one spring went flying into the void. Additionally (and like ALL mowers I've ever had) it ate the bottom rear rubber flap after only 5 minutes of use. And the foam wrap covering the handle started shredding like wet wrapping paper. I don't care about the handle wrap, the rubber flap was doomed from the start... that doesn't bother me. The hinge for the plastic bagger door I can fix, in fact - I did! One fender washer and a sheet-metal screw made it stronger than the OE design. 5 emails over 3 weeks got me one automated response, and one weak personal response with a request for more information.... and I've heard squat back. No answers. No parts. Poof So I fixed it myself and I'm leaving the review it deserves. Mower is OK, not awesome. If you can fix your own stuff - you should be alright. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Where do I start about what's wrong
Color: Push Mower
12/18/22 Update: 1 star to 3 stars. After I emailed it took a few days for them to get back to me, but they did get back to me. They asked me to tell them the part numbers of the broken pieces from the manual and I received the parts about a week later. That I do appreciate. 11/29/2022 Upfront it's a belt driven mower; this means it will wear out and the blade won't spin/cut. So far no answer after multiple attempts to contact by phone and email. An hour total listening to elevator music on repeat, no answer. Upon arrival 2 wheels broken ( I switched out with some wheels I had off a different mower). 1st day start string holder broke. After about 4 hours of use the belt wore out and the blade won't turn or cut grass. I gave this mower a try as I thought it was straight motor driven, but deceptive advertising. I even asked in the questions after the fact to warn others," is it belt driven?", Strangely I received 2 "no" answers before they shut down answers to the question. Don't buy belt driven mowers unless you want a short lived product that you can't get replacement parts for. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars not self propelled
Color: Push Mower
I have an incline, I should have bought self propelled. The mower leaked oil in the box, the grass guard on the back fell off during use. Glad they delivered it so I wouldn't have to put it my car.
