I'm looking to replace an ancient, held together with bubble gum and shoelaces, metal framed, replaceable netting, leaf scooper/skimmer. What are the odds? Anysway, let's get to it. To the Point or TL;DR Plastic, large capacity, captures smaller floating particles, fits standard aluminum pool pole, easy to connect, one piece frame & net, flexes under light pressure, not very sturdy, not made for longevity, don't expect it to last a season, inexpensive, and smooth edges shouldn't cut your vinyl (and definitely not your concrete). The Good Stuff I always like the Non-finger pinching button for connecting to pole, which this has. Also, it fit well onto my standard aluminum pole. Works good at removing the floating debris including some of the smaller bits and pieces. After using it and feeling the edges, I don't think it will cut my vinyl pool lining. Manufacturer isn't clear why they have a separate piece to install so that the pole will fit, but I imagine you could add a different attachment for different diameter or styles of poles. The Bad Stuff First thing I noticed is it Bends/Flexes while pulling through water to collect floating debris. Makes me think it won't take much to snap it and will it get a large amount of leaves off the bottom during the Fall? Doubtful. I dislike Use, Break, Throw away, products and this is one. Considering it's overall composition, this is a buy one per season sort of thing. I didn't ding it for the throw away after broken because I knew that before ordering. Me Final Thoughts This is a decent skimmer for those that don't or won't put it to any Hard work through the year, and it might last several seasons that way. I, on the other hand, have lots of trees around my pool, which requires a more robust skimmer and pole. I suggest getting an aluminum framed leaf skimmer for a few bucks more and if you can find one where you can replace the netting...evern better. Hope this helps. ...How long this lasts. The size and fit on my existing pool is excellent and along with good construction make this a deal to look at. However, even though this Skimmer net is a great size and collects a substantial amount of debris, it still feels appropriate for only light duty use. I found that there is considerable flex in the frame when removing a full net of leaves from the pool and the netting seems slightly thinner than my previous one. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We bought this pool net, hoping that it would be able to scoop leaves off the bottom easier but it is a little flimsy once it hits the bottom of the pool it’s definitely more of a scooping off the top kind of net so for that it works works well

Got this net to use in the removal of leaves from the pool. It appears to be well made and sturdy but it is made of plastic so time will tell if it holds up to repeated exposure to chemicals and sun. Holds a decent amount of leaves when skimming but does tend to bend when heavy. Works for what I need though, so I am pleased with it. ... show more
