I would recommend for anyone who is trying to vacuum algae from their pool. We purchased 2 different battery-powered pool vacuums to eliminate dead algae from our pool. Both had nets that were not fine enough so the algae simply recirculated back into the pool. This Flowclear worked great because it goes through the tube into our sand filter. It took a minute to get the suction going, but once it was on, it was perfect. For the price, you can't beat it. TIP: Make sure to let any standing air in the tubes out as you connect it to the filter. Ours has a hex-shaped valve that we could release to remove any air. Once the circuit was cleared of air, it was perfect. We didn't nail it the first time but figured it out. ... show more

    • Works great
We bought a Bestway pool from Costco last year. It came with a 1500gph sand filter with no skimmer or floor vacuum. We tried out a rechargeable hand brush vacuum, but the glue came apart and it was an utter disaster. This vaccuum brush was a pain at first. I didn’t follow the instructions and plugged one of the two outlets while running the vaccuum. The pump kept getting air in it and I was getting frustrated. I ran the vaccuum at the same time as the skimmer and it barely worked. Luckily, some further problems happened with the filter that caused me to upgrade to a 3100gph sand filter. The upgrade made life easy and the vacuum and skimmer both work at the same time, with adequate suction. Life should be easier this summer. ... show more

    • Sturdier than expected
The media could not be loaded. I was surprised this felt as sturdy as it did. For $45 I didn’t know what to expect with some mixed reviews. The actual head is weighted so it doesn’t rise to the surface like my stick vacuum does. Pole is very sturdy extends quite far and still has strength to hold added pressure for forward strokes. When pulling back it tilts back so it appears you’ll only be able to use it while pushing vs back pulling. Hose clamps were useless for attaching canister to head (couldn’t get the spinner attached and when trying to turn it it would hit the canister). And the canister did fall off a couple times during use. I just took it off and hooked the hose up directly. I was surprised at how much was in there … as it all floated back in the pool 🤦♀️ Rookie mistake. I’ll find a bigger clamp no biggie. As I’m shorter I’ll probably use this while I’m inside the pool for better control. As my video shows I’m dealing with some thick settled algae. it’s picked it up better than my stick pool vacuum did. I should add that in the video I’m using one hand so the downward pressure is much better with two hands obviously😂 I have a summer waves pool with the original pump attached at the bottom of the skimmer. (I have upgraded to a sand filter (intex 14” 2800 gph) the flat kind of square piece is exactly what attracted me to this kit. I have a 22 foot pool and was able to extend to the middle of the pool with no problem. ... show more

    • Check the pump strength of your pool
I received this item not sure of what to expect. It seemed very light and cheap but at the price I was not complaining. The first problem I had was an important piece was missing. So I had to return it and get another one which amazon customer service is top notch. And that went flawlessly. Once I received the appropriate parts I hooked the vacuum up and found the small filter clogged almost immediately in the thick layer of algae I had in my pool. Took me several hours of vacuuming to get the bottom cleaned. Now this being said this pool was very thick with algae. The second problem I had. Once I hooked it up to the pool filter it would limit the water going into the intake. I would have to shut my pump off and refill my pump tanks. Now it is possible the pump I have is too strong for this vacuum I am not sure. All in all its a nice price for a vacuum that does do the job if you have the time . But prepare for a lengthy process if you have a ton of dirt in the pool. If your pool is already clean and you just want a daily vacuum it works just fine ... show more

    • Hide collapses too easy
The hose collapses too easy. I have 2 intake valves on my pool. I have a skimmer hooked up to one and I hooked the vacuum up to the other, this resulted in not enough suction. I used a stopper with a small hole provided with my pool on the skimmer side and still not enough suction. Next I removed the skimmer put a complete stopper on, now the hose collapsed at the area that is not corrugated. (Not sure why there is an area like this on the hose) I tried over and over to manipulate the suction but ended with either not enough suction or a collapsed hose. I ended up having to purchase a $99 hose made for pool &spa vacuums. The other issue is the filter cartridge comes apart very easily and causes captured debris to be released into the pool. ... show more
