  • Beautiful and easy to work with
Color: 018-1kg Muted Blue (Hex Code: #7a9db3)
This is probably my new favorite PLA. It's a great color that seems unique to this brand. I had to do zero tuning for this filament - I just printed with a default PLA profile and it works well (in both Cura and Orca). I have had no issues with adhesion (on a PEI bed) whatsoever. It has always produced a perfect finish on all surfaces. I intended to only use this filament for some decorative pieces, but it's so easy to work with that I ended up doing some utilitarian prints in it too, and it seems great for all purposes. ... show more

  • Polyterra is great!
Color: 013-1kg Army Red (Hex Code: #Bc3e44)
I absolutely love the strong color and matte appearance of this Matte Army Red PLA. It prints great and has pre-made settings in Orca Slicer for the Bambu P series printer. Just to note, Polyterra is matte because they add in plant material. The plant material is great at giving you the matte appearance, however, it does slightly reduce the strength of the PLA. I've not noticed any issues with that personally, however, if you are going for functional prints where appearance doesn't matter but want to utilize PLA for it's ease of printing. Polylite PLA, PLA plus, and Polymax might be better suited depending on your needs. Polymaker is far above average in every way and I highly recommend them. • Poor quality
Color: 013-1kg Army Red (Hex Code: #Bc3e44)
Update. I must have gotten a bad batch. Polymaker reached out and made things right. I unfortunately stocked up on Polymaker during a prime sale. I have an eibos dryer and have not been able to save this. I don’t think it’s wet, it’s just poor quality. The matte filament prints are weak. The matte red is continually inconsistent in quality, see pics compared to a regular cheapo red from another brand. I have previously purchased eryone matte filament from Amazon and had excellent results. Simple geometry items like a box or cylinder show off the poor quality. I’ve never had walls look so bad. Polymaker has a great color selection but the matte filament is junk. The navy blue is extremely weak. You can deform printed models with ease. It also gums up and leaves scorched globs on the print. The cloud white gave me tolerance issues when I had a “successful print.” Pic attached of the blue. This was one of the better prints. I’m not sure what it is, but side walls are generally bad and top layers have issues too. The actual strength is one of the poorest from any filament I’ve used. Polymaker seems great, but it’s not worth it. ... show more

  • Easy to print, nice-looking matte finish
Color: 013-1kg Army Red (Hex Code: #Bc3e44)
I originally purchased this because it's supposed to be a close match to Milwaukee Tool red. I wanted to make some accessories for my garage to organize my bits and pieces, and so far it definitely appears it's a nice match for the matte red color that Milwaukee uses on its tools. And, at $20/kg, it doesn't break the bank compared to some premium or specialty filaments out there. Aside from liking the red color and matte finish, I had excellent experiences with this filament: • Printed with a 0.5mm hardened steel nozzle, I used nozzle at 220°C, bed at 50°C • If adhesion is an issue, which I ran into when printing lines only 2 walls thick with no infill or other connections, I did need a light film of purple glue stick. That stuck down very well. • Stringing was nearly nonexistent for me. I had a tiny bit of light fuzz where retractions and travel moves happened, but that was it. I can easily burn that off with a quick touch of a torch. • Cardboard spool is a great touch to cut down on plastic trash in landfills. • Polymaker also supplies technical info on testing and composting for their PLA filament. I haven't tested for dimensional accuracy, but that's not a major concern for my use cases. There's probably enough tolerance in my printer's movements and belts that I wouldn't notice a huge difference anyway. The matte finish is excellent. It has just a small amount of sheen, but definitely isn't glossy except for the bottom layer on a smooth PEI bed. Overall, I'm very happy with this filament. It is excellent value for the price, and I've already ordered more to continue organizing my garage workspace. Update 6/19/2024: I've continued using this filament for various battery and tool holders, and it has been excellent. Prints well, nearly zero stringing, no clogs, no tangles, the cardboard spools have been fine. Overall, it's my go-to filament for my tool-related projects. ... show more

  • Great Matte Filament!
Color: 010-1kg Arctic Teal (Hex Code: #00b4bc)
Polyterra Matte PLA is spectacular! It prints like a charm regardless of the printed temperature, had a great finish, and works great all 3 different machines (Creality S10, Voron 2.4, Bambu P1S). While matte pla generally isn't as strong as traditional PLA I have experienced no issues with parts failing. Plus Polyterra has an excellent selection of colors (like the Teal for this review). Finally they ship with recyclable cardboard spools which are great! My only wish is that they offered reusable spools and filament refills. Overall 5 stars! ... show more
