  • much more flexible and sticky than their clear version
Color: 2.85mm 0.75kg Tpu95, Blue
I've already printed full a roll of the Polymaker "Clear" TPU95A, and so had my printer pretty much dialed in. Switching to this blue, I found that it's very stringy, and bed adhesion is super strong on just a plain glass heated bed, even tiny parts stick like crazy without any glue. I compared a 1mm thick - 3" disc made out of clear vs a 3mm thick disc of the same size in the blue... the flexibility factor is still noticeably more squishy in the blue filament. I originally purchased to make something in vase mode, but it was a total fail since it's just too flexible during the print, but discovered quickly it's a superb material for making gaskets!! All-in-all, it's a great filament to have in my toolbox! ... show more

  • Nice clean prints
As a generalization, TPU has a reputation for being a bit more difficult to print. I was expecting to have to do a lot of work to get a clean print out of this. To my surprise... I really didn't have any issues. My first test prints were coming out clean. I did print a temperature tower to find the best temp for this and tweak settings to minimize stringing (TPU is usually fairly stringy). Then straight away I was getting good parts with this stuff. The material is very flexible. It's not particularly 'stretchy'. The filament itself does exhibit stretchy/elastic property (in addition to flexibility) but once you have a handful of layers built up, it really doesn't 'stretch' and is mostly just flexible. It is VERY strong and layer adhesion is outstanding (you will find that you cannot pull the layers apart.) I should mention that I use this on a direct-drive printer. Bowden-drive printers are probably more common. Bowden drives have to "push" the filament through the Bowden tube and the rubbery nature of the filament can make this difficult for some printers. Direct-drive printers have the filament feed hob gear directly on the print head (no Bowden-tube) so they have better control of the filament. I've never tried to print this on a Bowden-drive machine so I can't speak to how well it works. ... show more

  • cardboard spool makes this almost completely useless
Color: 2.85mm 0.75kg Tpu95, Red
whether mounted internally on a polycarbonate spool holder in my printer or externally in a spool dryer with very low friction bearing rails, the resistance produced by the cardboard on these reels coupled with the elasticity of the filament makes the product feed and print abysmally. wish i could be credited for the roll i began printing on. returning all the others i purchased. plastic reels would very likely not produce this problem as it is a non-issue with airwolf and ninjaflex TPU (spooled on plastic reels). ... show more

  • So amazing. I want to try all the exotic filaments now.
Polyflex was a joy from the very start. I took a guess at the print settings, and my first print turned out perfectly. I made some small adjustments, and then printed 20 hours worth of parts with only a single failure. My nozzle did clog at one point, but I believe the was some old ABS in there. After a few cold pulls, printing continued without error. Every part stuck to the bed. The were no voids, and NEVER any layer separation. I can hardly believe how good the layer adhesion is in this stuff. I pulled with all my might and the lays did not separate. PLA and ABS gave way almost immediately. It feels slightly greasy, but that's just the low friction surface finish. I did find the color a little darker than shown, but consistent. I wish they would make a wider range of colors in this material. ... show more

They say it works in most printers, but when talking to support on the phone they had not hear of the Robo 3D printer and did not know if it would work.

  • Easy to print, flawless extrusion
Bought this to print replacement rubber end caps for a toolbox I was restoring. Printed beautifully on the first try, with a bowden setup and standard (non-flex-capable) extruder, with print settings in the middle of the recommended range. The one thing I would recommend (just like with other flex filaments), especially if your are extruding into a bowden tube: tweak your settings so that you're extruding at a constant rate (so infill, perimeters, and everything else at the same rate), disable retraction, and print reasonably slow (I went about half as fast as I print PLA); those things should prevent most problems. ... show more
