Yes, like others, it is not exactly 25 ft... when expanding, left to its own devices. However, and this is a big "however", who cares? This hose is bomb-diggity compact and super light; good-if-not exceptional hardware (*AL, but nicely finished); nice woven exterior; excellent "little big shot" compact nozzle, although I bought alternative "rain shower" for software watering when needed.... I am able to keep this in a small seed-start greenhouse rack on the bottom shelf and it takes up less room than a box of miracle grow plant food. Bravo for a compact design. Works well out of the box. I am looking forward to the durability and longevity test and see if this holds up for me over time. ... show more

    • If you really need 25' don't buy this hose
The quality of the hose is superior, at least 5 stars. But when you purchase something that says "hose expands to 25 ft" you might expect the hose to be usable at 25 feet. It does expand to approximately 25' under pressure (read you ARE NOT SPRAYING WITH IT), but when you go to use it (and isn't that why we buy one for) it pulls back about 5 to 7 feet. And, if you are not expecting this the nozzle will leave your hand. This is one start. So, when your purchasing one please find out what the length is when its being used, spraying. Because of the quality of the product I am planning to purchase another one but one that is advertised to expand to 50'. ... show more

This hose is much more compact than our previous hose as you can see in the picture. It is a shorter length than our previous hose but can easily reach what we need to water by the house. It does not expand for me but it is very stretchy to reach further distances while maintaining the durability of the hose. It is lightweight and easy to use. This compact design prevents tripping over a hose that is left out, too. It comes with a couple of rubber washers to use if there is leakage at the connection site but I didn’t need these. ... show more

The connectors are solid and the hose is nice and stretchy. Unfortunately, it sprang a leak soon after I got it and I had to return it.

I absolutely LOVE the smaller size. It takes up so much less space when not in use, and is easier to move around. I also like the shutoff valve on the end, making it easy to use and not use without walking back to the source. The included nozzle works great. I highly recommend and would bye again.
