Originally bought an SjoyBring deck. The Radio was junk. Returned it and got this Pioneer. Reception is much better. Everything seems to work good so far. It was only 80 dollars more than the Sjoybring. Well worth the extra money. Quality is much better.

Put this in my 02 Tacoma. Gotta perfect without any deck adapter. Twice as responsive than the last gen pioneer. Can't really go wrong with pioneer. Awesome stereo. No issues.

Installed on my 15’ brz, fits perfectly with the side brackets. Pretty easy to install, depends on what wire adapters you get. I was able to retain the stock usb cable to use the CarPlay. Only thing you won’t be able to keep is the oem mic, you will have to use the unit mic and reroute the wires, which I choose to skip since I don’t really take calls when I’m driving. I will update after a year, seeing how other reviewers have said it runs into problems down the road. So far so good. ... show more

I finally decided to give up on trying to make the OEM radio in my ‘15 Silverado do the things I wanted it to and went aftermarket. I chose this model for two specific reasons: 1) CarPlay, 2) iDataLink. I paired this unit with a replacement fascia from Crutchfield, as well as a Maestro RR and a GM3 harness. After everything was said and done with, I had a clean looking stereo that sounded amazing, kept my steering wheel controls as well as all of the OEM integrated vehicle settings through the stereo display interface.     • Great unit, but lacking a few features
Installed this unit shortly after Christmas and its working great. A few gotchas: -While this unit supports Apple Carplay, it REQUIRES a USB connection to make this work. Wireless Carplay is not supported on this unit unfortunately. -Unit requires a connection to the parking brake. Basically the manufacturer doesn't want you fiddling with certain settings while driving. I get the safety benefit, but it also locks out passengers from making some adjustments unless the parking brake is engaged. I purchased an after market bypass unit from this, and you should consider doing the same. -This is more of subjective industry feedback: Head units this style are all flat, and touch based only. You quickly learn to miss the haptic feedback of the factoring that offered from feeling for a Seek button, preselect station buttons, or more noticeably, a volume knob. Modern cars that have steering wheel controls (and an extra Maestro unit to interface them) won't suffer from this, but I'd prefer the unit to have something to help combat this. Since the receiving car doesnt have steering wheel controls, I added stickers next to the soft volume up/down buttons to assist me when driving. -Unit has a nag screen every time the car is started. Granted it only stays on a few seconds, but really? I'm a grown up that bought a product. Why can't I disable this? ... show more
