Had no issues for a year then started haning at the Pioneer screen then finally does this randomly and wont work unless I leave the truck off for a few days. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL. I also hear the NEX molds have same problems.

I have had this in a 350z for less than 8 months 3 of which the car was just sitting. At some point it started to not boot at all and stay on the pioneer screen, than it started to white screen and won’t do anything else. The radio worked well while it was working. TL;DR buyer be ware this model of head unit is known to white screen after a few months, you can find plenty of examples of this. ... show more

After using pioneer head units since my first car in 1998 this will be my last one. Worked for a year and now it's junk. Constant reboots and white screen. Complete disappointment. Bye pioneer

The media could not be loaded. Radio worked fine until about 2 days ago, screen locked, radio started and restarted, now just a white screen with a few red and blue lines….nothing works, have unplugged the harness, tried it all. Touch features do not work nor do any of the side buttons. First thing to go was Bluetooth…then it started to restart itself, pioneer logo and work fine, then pioneer logo stuck on radio (of course 87.9) could not turn off or turn down the static. Unless you want to alway replace the unit every couple of months, don't by this. It will inevitably get the white screen of death. Once that happens the radio is inoperable and pioneer will try to get out of warranty.

    • Absolute Garbage! DO NOT BUY!
Unit started to reboot while driving after about 8 months of use. It got more frequent and then started going to a white screen. Now it won't work at all. Just goes to the white screen or Pioneer startup screen without progressing. Tried the reset button to no avail. Pioneer told me as it is out of warranty, I have to pay for repair - they refuse to do a goodwill or discounted repair even though this appears to be a very common problem with this unit. Worked beautifully for about 6 months or so, and then started restarting on me at random times while I was driving. That seemed to have abated for a while after doing a factory reset, but the glitches came back with a vengeance recently (about 11 months after it was installed). Resetting constantly while driving, and frequently results in the so-called "white screen of death" people on here seem to be mentioning in the reviews.
