We bought these 4 years ago and they are still doing great!. It collects the litter debris from the cats paws so they don't track it all over the place. It is easy to clean and very sturdy. The holes in the top layer are very deep so you can collect quite a bit and it holds. Then take it outside and shake and the debris comes out easily. You can hose it off easily, I open the side and slip it over a bucket to dry. It handled wet messes when a new cat who was unfamiliar with litter boxes joined the home and peed on the matt instead of in the box..... took it outside sprayed cleaner on it, hosed it down, put it out to dry and it is doing fine - isn't holding odors and didn't leak through. This mat actually works. No more having to vacuum daily. The grid catches the litter and is deep enough that it stays in the grid so it isn’t tracked around the house. I bought this initially and loved it so much that I bought another one just 1 month later when it was on sale. The grey color is different than the original one (see photos). I suspect the sale ones had defects and that’s why they were on sale. The color is different, the holes are a little different and it had much worse creasing! But overall it does what it claims. Catches litter and helps reduce tracking. Instead of opening it up to clean it I keep them on the floor and just use a hand vacuum to suction all the litter up. This mat is amazing. I was hesitant about getting one because 1 of our 5 cats is scared of change and everything else but I needed help as these cats were tracking litter particles all over. I tried a number of different litters over the last year but when at my wit's end bought this. The mat itself is fine, catches litter, easy to clean, etc. BUT the mat comes folded and they want you "weigh it down to flatten it." Why didn't they just not fold it in the first place? No clue.

O should have bought this A long time ago. It catches most of the litter and is now keeping my floor litter free. Very easy to clean. I folded it up in the opposite direction it came in to flatten out. I put rubber bands around it and it flattened out within a few hrs. Good value for the money.

I found these mats on a cat site and thought I’d given a try. Oh my gosh what a game changer. I have two cats and two litter boxes in a second bath. The floor was always a mess with the litter they kicked out. I usually used towels in front of the boxes which I would shake out. These mats are incredible. They’re double layered with the top layer having holes where the litter falls through and the bottom is solid to trap the litter. There’s an opening at one end to empty the trapped litter back into the box. It works so well! My bathroom floor is no longer a gritty mess. You can see from my photo I have one placed sideways in front of each litter box. The mats are 24”x15” and were $15 each…an incredible investment for a clean bathroom! ... show more

This is best for catching granule litter or very small pellets. It's not the absolute best if pee or vomit happens to make it way on it. It's a bit harder to wash. Some litter may get stuck at the edge where it doesn't open up or in the holes of course. When I have washed it, just soap and water, I have been amazed at how dirty the water ends up looking, so now I try to do a good spray down every once in a while.
