If I am expecting a lot of “door” traffic - HVAC, family, in & out garden work, I mount a coil on the little stand provided, set it in a terra cotta tray and place it below the door on the stoop near the hinge side of the door. Keeps mosquitos, gnats and bugs from hovering at the door. Also use them, same way when sitting / eating on the patio, placing them on the patio on either side of our sitting area for a pest free time. I have always purchased the "OFF" brand in the past, but thought I would try this less expensive PIC version. At first I thought the quality of this PIC version was not good, as I lit 3-coils and each one burned out in less than 20-minutes with no effect on the mosquitoes. But then I realized it was my fault by not following the instructions properly. IMPORTANT: Once the end is lit, it is necessary to blow out any flame to the point it only smolders at the end in an orange glow. This will allow the coil to last longer and put out a small stream of smoke to deter the mosquitoes. The scent is okay, but it does not seem to match that nice campfire smell that I used to remember years ago. Bottom line: I DO recommend this product. ... show more

This product seems to work really well, I’ve been enjoying my backyard for the first time all summer without getting completely destroyed my mosquitos. unfortunately it arrived all broken up into little prices so I have to keep lighting new chunks every 20 minutes or so, which is a bit of a PITA
