I use this for my elderly cat who is only ~10 lbs. I think it’s great for little pets. It did take time training her to use it, but now it’s second nature. The fabric does separate from the dense foam after a while, but I don’t think it’s a concern. It’s still as sturdy as it was on day 1. I liked so much I bought one for the bed as well. ... show more

    • Don’t bother, not worth it
I bought this in February (it’s now July) for my tiny 10 pound mini Doxie. After only a few months, there is permanent wear, dents in the foam, and the fabric has pulled away from the inside foam. I went to pick it up today by one of the steps, and the foam had disintegrated. Meh. In addition, because I have to put it sideways to the couch, it tips over. I fixed that by Opening the zipper and putting a thin 12” ceramic tile Inside on the bottom, and closing it back up. ... show more

    • Good and Bad...
Let me begin by saying my dog is a 25 lb cockapoo. These steps have a couple of excellent features and one very bad one. They are soft if my dog mis-steps; he's old and his back legs aren't always reliable for him. So if he falls down going up or down, the steps are soft and don't injure him. They are also solid, meaning they support him well. However, they are also dangerous for older dogs in that they are unsteady. If he doesn't place his weight exactly right, the steps tilt, making him afraid to go down. The tilting only happen when he is going down the steps. Going up they are fine. They need to be wider in order to make the secure. As they are, I think they are best for a small breed such as Yorkshire Terrier. It would be nice to have them available in a wider width and deeper stairs for dogs my size and age. ... show more

The fabric is decent. The foam is too squishy. It doesn't allow support of their [chihuahuas] weight when climbing. They don't feel secure on it. They will literally jump several times in order to get up on the couch RIGHT BESIDE this thing rather than use it. It's like it's in their way. They have a sold ramp in the other room that they use all the time. so I know that they do not prefer to jump. I would not re-buy this. I am probably only keeping it because of hoarding tendencies. ... show more

    • MY DOG LOVES IT!!
With old age in a dog comes lower energy levels and fragile bones, do not exploit your dog by not letting it on the things it could get onto when it was younger, get them some stairs. This makes me happier and gives me peace of mind for my older dog because it is not so much her getting on the couch that worries me than it is her getting off of it, because I have seen her feet get swept from under her, so I knew I had to buy these. These stairs are gentle on your dogs feet and can alleviate the tension and weight your dog has to put on its feet when it tries to get on and off furniture, and it being lightweight I move the stairs wherever my dog is. ... show more

    • No toe stubbing
My almost 11-year-old chihuahua was having problems jumping on my bed. I purchased this product to help her climb up on the bed. I had to get her use to climbing the stairs bcus I live on the ground floor and she very barely climbs steps. I did so by placing her snack on the top step until she figured out that it's easier to climb up to the bed instead of jumping. I like that it's foam bcus when I wake up at night I bang into it and cant feel the toe stub. It Doesn't take up to much space. It's very lightweight and it looks nice. I love these Petmaker stairs because they are pretty, and they are sturdy; but my little chi was afraid of them on first try. Thankfully, pets usually get use to stairs. I put some ottomans next to its sides to make pup feel more secure as with his plastic stairs that have a side railing.     • Good set of pet steps for 16" of elevation
I was impressed with these steps for how sturdy they are for their light weight. We have a new puppy and these steps work well to allow her to walk up to the shelf that sits about 17" above the floor at the end of our bed. From there she can jump up to the bed. The steps provide 16" of elevation (4 steps). All of our dogs are under 15 pounds and these steps can easily support them as they climb up. They would easily support all three dogs at the same time.
