The whole inside is padded fur or whatever you call it and the outside is like the strongest part of a tent. No way it will ever tear or anything. One of the best things I have ever bought on Amazon. I bought one of these beds for my corgis to try before I purchased an additional one. The information states it’s for dogs 35 pounds or less. I have one corgi that is 18 pounds and one that is 20 pounds and this bed is way to small for them. They cannot even fit halfway in it. It came vacuum packed and the directions state to let it sit for 24 hours to allow it to form its shape. It smelled bad when I unwrapped it, so I placed it in the garage for several days. It never popped up fully and was droopy, The smell was still bad, so I washed it (you have to hand wash it, cannot wring it out, and line dry only). It is very heavy when you wash it and there is no way to line dry it because it’s to heavy for any clips. It sat in the hot Florida sun for over 3 days to dry. So my suggestion is if you are going to buy this bed, make sure it’s for a dog the size of a yorkie or smaller and have another bed that your dog can use if you have to wash this one. ... show more

We have a 20lb. Pekingese (big) who previously had a different soft sided dog house that he really liked but wore out. As soon as this one came out of the box he was in it and has claimed it as his new nap spot. Really.soft lining and durably constructed. Super easy put where ever you want it. In 2019 I bought 3, figure the one that arrived today (11/4/20) would be identical to specs of last year... the house itself seems fine; base padding not so much. Last year quality foam 1” thick + lining, inside plush cover material. Today’s arrival (2020) 1/2’ and the thin-foam inside plush cover is shortened by 1” all sides... it’s not even a pad, compared to the quality good one last year. Purchased for my cats. Last year they were juveniles and could fit 2 and 3 per hut... THEY GREW now only fit one per hut. So, I’m needing 2 more. STILL regardless of thinner pad, I’ll have to add something cushier, but I still prefer THIS compared to ‘small scale’ hut-homes from other sellers, that do not fit ALL-SIZE-CATS... STILL WOULD RECOMMEND for larger cats ... show more

I was a little alarmed when I first opened the package. It was packed air tight, but after leaving it out a few minutes it started to shape up a little better. At first I couldn't even tell which end was the bottom, top, or side. As a reference, I posted a picture of a smaller house that I ordered previously. I have 2 dogs, both Poms, but one is small at 6 pounds and the more huskier one is about 15! So, the bigger dog needed a bigger house. I wish it was a bit nicer and more sturdy, but it'll do for now. I bought this for one of our dogs who is getting older and going blind, so he gets a little more nervous about sleeping with the other dogs in case he can't see them and step on them or something. Was a bit skeptical about purchasing but decided to get anyway knowing I could always return it. I must admit, I’m happy with my purchase. Very sturdy, and large enough to put my dog’s favorite bed in it. The instructions state to let the bed sit for about 24 to 48 hours in a warm place so bed will form, however I did not do that and it is still sturdy. I decided to put it in the dryer for 5 minutes, although instructions states not to place in dryer. My hope was to get the wrinkles out and that it would firm it up quicker because of the heat. And it did just that. I would not try it more than five minutes because the bottom of the bed lining is plastic, so depending on your dryer you have to be very careful. I bought this house because of the size. Most kitty houses are too small to fit a 10 to 12lb cat. I bought one of these cozy cottage's to see if one of my 2 cats would like it. She had plenty of sleeping room in it and enough to stretch out. and she loves sleeping in it. I bought another one to see if my senior cat would like it. Same thing she loves sleeping in her new kitty cottage house, she is now in there more than she is sleeping with me, which means I think she likes it. ... show more
