  • It was no good, expired maybe? Dunno.
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 7.5 oz. PowerBead
I bought this a month ago to use when i changed my oil pan gasket on my Jeep CJ. I finally got around to swapping it out this weekend. I pulled out the right stuff and nothing would come out, it was HARD as a rock. I was like, this can’t be, this is brand new..... but yep, hard as a rock. So i tried to punch a hole in it so i could get some product out... i expected it to come spewing out.... nope nothing. So i CUT IT IN HALF.... in the middle of it was a little bit of soft material i could use with a knife to put on my gasket.... talk about a pain in the butt. Now it’s been to long to say “hey, I’d like my money back.” Hopefully the seller sees this and the picture and tries to make it right. It’s not like they sent it to me knowing it was already hardened up.... maybe they can use this to help their other customers cause that can’t be the only bottle that hardened up. ... show more

  • Dried in can - does not work and there is no return
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 7.5 oz. PowerBead
I ordered this and it came yesterday. Went to use it today and nothing would come out. I played with the nozzle and it appears to be solid throughout. I logged in to request a refund/return and get the message that this product is not eligible for return (I actually just want one that works for my $22). Very unhappy. ... show more

  • Dried Up
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 5 oz. with Caulking Gun
The product is good but the container sucks. I got the 2 5 oz bottles with caulking gun. After using it, I did as the instructions stated - to push out about half an inch of the gasket maker and when I next want to us it, to pull out the dried half inch of gasket material. Nope, that didn't work, the bottle dried up almost solid. I was able to remove the push-in plastic piece and shoved a Popsicle stick to retrieve material from the middle for one more job. This was a waste of $$. ... show more

  • Fixed leaking oil pan.
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 5 oz. with Caulking Gun
I used this product in an unintended way. After watching videos online about ways to fix leaking oil pans, I figured this was worth a shot. It worked great! It's messy, but 5000 miles later and it's still working like a champ. Dealing with a 4x4, transfer cases, supports and more, that made pulling the oil pan a huge job, this was a gift. On top of that, it can be done roadside if need be. If your looking at this product for this use, I'm sure you saw the videos (there is one with a guy working on like a copper colored pickup, and he uses a shop vac, he's the best!) Just be sure to clean it well, be sure no more oil is leaking while putting on the permatex & apply liberally (there's plenty, don't be greedy, use it all, so you only do it once). Awesome awesome stuff! ... show more

  • Worked Flawlessly for My Intended Purpose
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 5 oz. with Caulking Gun
I purchased this Permatex® 99070 The Right Stuff® Gasket Maker, 5 oz. - 2 Pack with Caulking Gun from Amazon in February 2018 for the purpose of fixing the dashboard in my 2008 Mercury Milan that was bulging around the passenger air bag trim cover. Basically, the original manufacturer's adhesive located beneath that area had lost its effectiveness after several years (a commonly-reported issue by Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion owners). Rather than paying a dealer or independent auto shop to fix that issue, it was suggested to me by an experienced auto technician, who frequently performs this same type of repair, that I simply do what he does and apply this Right Stuff® Gasket Maker 33694 (black colored caulk gun type) adhesive with the included application gun (or equivalent) to the underside of the warped section of the dash board, after first removing the air bag. I did just that and the fix worked flawlessly. No dashboard bulging has returned after several years later. The reason that this adhesive product was recommended to me, versus another sort of stronger automobile adhesive (e.g., 3M), is because the dashboard area can become very hot from sunlight and so the adhesive must be able to withstand excessively high temperatures which this product is perfectly capable of doing. For this specific application, at least, I have been completely satisfied with this product. I like the caulking gun that’s included with this bundle. While a regular caulking gun can also be used with these smaller 5 oz. tubes, I specifically needed this shorter gun to facilitate working in the confined space between by car’s dash and windshield… which it did brilliantly. The gray frame measures 8 inches long and that includes the 6-inch length of the cradle plus the 2-inch long top-most portion of the handle attached to the end of the cradle. The fixed handle portion measures 6-1/4 inches long from top to bottom. The 1/4” diameter push rod measures 9 inches long plus an additional 1/2-inch for the bent end portion of it. These short 5 oz. tubes of Right Stuff® black one minute gasket measure 5-1/4“ long and fit nicely into this gun’s 6-inch long cradle, as shown in my attached photo. Similarly-short tubes of RTV/sealants should work equally well in it. For my own personal and occasional shop use, I find its overall quality to be satisfactory… at least for an imported (i.e., Made in China) tool. While true that it’s constructed of a thinner gauge steel and is not really what one might deem to be a heavy-duty tool, the gun still manages to have a pretty “solid” feel to it and does not necessarily feel cheap or flimsy. I would classify it more as a medium-duty type tool. The push rod seems pretty beefy/sturdy and is notched on its one side to facilitate the gun’s smooth ratcheting drive mechanism. I like that the circular metal plate attached to the end of the push rod can be easily removed, presumably to clean it, by simply loosening its hex nut, although I haven't found any reason to do that yet. A handy spout cutter, measuring 3/8” in diameter, is included on the fixed handgrip portion and operated by squeezing the trigger grip which has a sharpened edge behind the spout cutter hole for the purpose of cutting the tip. Attached to the underside of the cradle is a caulk tube seal puncher rod/wire, measuring 3-1/4” long, used for poking holes in the foil seal of the tube. The gray painted finish on my gun seems to have been applied neatly by the manufacturer and has been durable and held up well through my occasional use of the gun during the past three years. No markings whatsoever are present on the gun, except for three somewhat cheesy-looking model #, “SPOUT CUTTER” and “MADE IN CHINA” labels that have been affixed to it; I presume this is a cost-cutting measure by the manufacturer to eliminate the step of actually stamping that information onto the tool itself. Some reviewers have noted that the ratcheting drive systems of this gun did not hold up well or even broke during prolonged daily use in a professional shop. While it’s a decent enough tool for home or light/moderate usage, I can certainly see where this gun could likely wear to the point of eventually failing to ratchet any longer under consistently heavy usage. But this gun is still fairly affordable enough and a good enough overall value that I can’t see why a professional shop or heavy user wouldn’t mind having to replace this gun every so often, if necessary, since it can be purchased separately here on Amazon. ... show more

  • Their can is a fail! Buy cheese whiz instead.
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 3 oz.
I had three projects I specifically purchased this Permatex for. I partially finished the first one and had to quit that evening. When I went back to complete it. The Can was dead! I am quite sure that the propellant had leaked out of that can over night. It certainly wasn’t that I had used all the material in that can. It was ridiculous to spend that much money on one can and not even get one use from it!!! If I were you I would steer clear of that company. Have you ever spent that much on a can of cheese whiz recently? I don’t believe I’ve ever had a can of cheese whiz fail have you? Probably not. ... show more

  • This is stuff is a miracle!
Size: Pack of 1 Style: 7.5 oz. PowerBead
This is stuff is a miracle! I have a 2010 Ford Focus and decided to changed my transmission fluid. In doing so I went through three gaskets (one rubber and two fel-pro) and a new pan and nothing would stop the leaking. I also broke a bolt off by over tightening the pan and had to re-tap one of the bolt holes. I figured I would try this stuff before bringing it to a mechanic to see if it would work. So I dropped my pan and cleaned the pan and the transmission surface interface with acetone, applied a bead around the entire pan and bold holes and remounted the pan. I added transmission fluid immediately after installing the pan and then started my car and took it for a ride (no waiting). When I got back to check under the car NO LEAKS!!!! I wish I would have used this stuff in the first place in stead of wasting weeks with after market gaskets. If you do not have a factory reusable pan gasket (which mine didn't) I would highly recommend using this stuff. ... show more
