Description

" Convenient, Portable & Effective LOCTITE® 271™ is a red, low viscosity, methacrylate-based threadlocking adhesive with high strength. With steel fixture time of 10 min, brass 5 min and stainless steel 15 min. Can tolerate slight contaminations of industrial oils. Suitable for all metal fasteners. Breakaway torque on M10 bolts of 26 Nm. Fluoresces under UV light. Perfect for temperatures between -65°F - 360°F (-54°C - 182°C). LOCTITE® 271™ is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. LOCTITE® 271™ adds 3,000 PSI holding power on slip and press fit assemblies. Typical applications include the locking and sealing of large bolts and studs (up to M25 ). MILITARY GRADE ADHESION This high-strength thread locker is tested to the lot requirements of Military Specification Mil-S-46163A. MIL-SPEC (Military standard or Military-SPEC) adhesive are products that meet or exceed the US defense standard, a measure of quality set to standardize the expectations of all products supplied to the US Military. Each lot is also tested by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), a body of skilled personnel that specializes in testing materials and generating standards of quality.

  • expensive for what you get
Style: 6-ml
they sell it in milliliters to make it look like your getting a lot, but for the price your getting this tiny tube with just a bit inside. i haven't use it yet, because i don't need to lock things down just yet, i know the blue version tends to fail over time. but for the value, i might as well just epoxy things on in the future. ... show more

  • Awesome product.

This works again as advertised, i used it to install my V6 muzzle brake on my KSG and it worked great, that thing has not flinched a millimeter from when i first set it and it's been there for months and hundreds of rounds mostly slugs or 00 buck shot out of it, i think i've shot about 6 shells of birdshot in my life and not with this shotgun. It just works for weapons applications just make sure what you're using it for you're not intending to remove regularly cuz i would assume it would suck for you then, use the blue loctite instead which i have for regular bolts and such. ... show more

  • It absolutely works great and does what it says it will do.

We use Chicago screws to secure leather straps in places where most people may rivet. This allows for is to create a product that has a longer life. But we had a slight problem with the screws coming loose in certain circumstances. So now we use one of three different loctite threadlockers (based on the usage that our product will get). This allows us to still use screws, and to unscrew the screw it with a little extra work. This product has allowed us to continue our manufacturing process with very little change to our process. It absolutely works great and does what it says it will do. ... show more

  • It worked great with no issues at all
Style: 6-ml
I remember using this product or something similar years ago so I decided to buy some as I had a big job ahead of me. I stripped down the water case for my outboard and when replacing it with the many screws it takes to attach it I used the thread-locker on each one. I know these Johnson outboards vibrate quite a bit so I wanted a reliable way of securing them. It worked great with no issues at all. I did remove one screw as I needed to put an earth wire under it and it came out without a problem. ... show more

Good product, but misleading, very expensive considering the actual bottles are only filled halfway to the top. Bigger bottle presentation means they can charge more I guess.

  • It works like it's designed to work.

Do you really need to read a review of thread locker? Well here it is anyway. The red thread locker is for vital parts that you just can't afford to have come loose but may need to take apart some day. This stuff is strong and sometimes heat is needed to break the bolt free. Most bolts will stay tight if torqued to proper torque. Torque is meant to stretch the bolt a little which puts it in tension. If you over torque the bolt is stretched past it's ability to retain tension and the bolt either breaks, (that's fun) or it strips the threads. If it doesn't break and just stretches too much it won't keep the parts together that it's meant to. Sometimes particular locations experience vibrations that may eventually loosen the bolt and cause catastrophic failure. Use this stuff if the manual says to use it. ... show more
