    • the right part?
This is not an easy thing to replace in a Pioneer Bay stove. I had to get both the tube it mounts in that came with the element. I did bench test one of these two ignitors and it got orange hot! Now I have a backup on hand for 1/3rd the price of others I saw.

    • Wrong ends.
First had change end plugs, like said in other reviews. No big deal. Once I changed it out. The wrong end was heating up (by the wires). So wouldn't lite store. After few restarts, it started working right. Only been using for couple days now and been working. I'll see if I get 10+ years out of it, like last one. 4-Stars because wrong plugs and 2 didn't work right at first. ... show more

Used this to replace the burned out igniter in my Breckwell fireplace insert. Installation was a straight forward, direct replacement. Local vendor wanted $134 for the part alone.

    • To Good To Be True?
I had my pellet stove serviced with the understanding that this ignitor rod would be installed at the same time. The service guy cautioned that he has seen inexpensive rods like this installed and the computer board subsequently burn out. A replacement board would be over $350.00. So I did not install the rod. I will continue to light the stove pellets with a torch. In the past an official rod from Breckwell cost around $75.00 but only lasted one season. I'll use the torch method and not take any chance.
