    • Good Mid-Range bike carrier, you won't be disappointed
I needed to get a better bike carrier for awhile, but have been going back and forth on which style to get. My old bike carrier is a bumper attached one that holds the bikes by the frame, but our new style mountain bikes don't fit right and I ended up scratching the frames of all the bikes I carried with it. I started looking at other options, but didn't want to either spend a ton of money on something that would only get used a handful of times a year or getting something flimsy that would bounce around and not instill confidence in using. I then came across this carrier, which is built for the RV community, who know value economy and strength. When this arrived, I immediately noticed the thickness of the metal tubing. This is some thick metal and it is all powder coated. The hardware all looks like stainless as well. Assembly was simple, a couple of 17mm and 19mm wrench and sockets, and one 24mm for the hitch bolt. Everything else slides together and is adjustable, which is good as I have a Large frame and my wife has a Small, so I can adjust both the tire holders and the frame holder to fit. I will probably get some thicker straps, but the ones that came with it are fine. I just like the added security of thicker tie downs. One huge thing is that is has not scratched or done any damage to either of our bikes. After my experience with our other bike carrier I was relieved this one has thoughtfully added foam or fabric to all items that touch the bike frame. For the price, this is a great option to carry two bikes. It is lightweight and easy to attach to the hitch, which is a big deal for me as we don't leave this attached all the time. I does fold up to reduce the size when you aren't carrying bikes, which is good if you do leave it attached. So far this has met all expectations and I am quite pleased with it. ... show more

Product arrived as expected. I was surprised to get a “review request” the same day as received and I did not fill it out. The box was not damaged, all parts in bubble wrap not damaged. When putting the rack together, I found 2 parts that are broken. The square plastic between the knob that tightens and loosens the pressure-cracked and appears to have been overnighted when being partially put together for shipping. Have had a chance to use this a few times now. Very impressive!!!. Easy to assemble, I took my time to make certain to get the each piece into the correct spot and orientation. Installing it into my hitch was easy, and then bringing all the pieces into the proper orientation for use or storage is also easy. Getting my bikes into place takes just a bit of time and adjustment for the first use, but after that everything is set. Bracing the bike with the vertical hold and some straps left me with no concern that my bike would come off the carrier. Getting the bikes on and off the carrier is a breeze. Then folding up the empty carrier is also easy, with the holding bolts doing the perfect job. I have used road bikes int he carrier, but I cannot see what any bike would not fit into this. Bought it to put on the back of my camper. The ad didn't say it could not be used on one it said it was rv ready. Upon unpacking hitch I noticed a large sticker on it that specifically stated not for campers. Why didn't they put that in the description?
