    • I’m not really into time travel…
And I wasn’t sure about this book at first, but it got really good fast. I liked all the forces keeping Nick and Quinn apart, and that their romance felt so real. I have not read a lot of good romances this year. Most are incredibly boring and similar. But my main problem with them is they don’t create enough conflict. Halfway through the book the characters get together and then it’s just a big boring flop to the end, but this book is different. Besides the romance, there is the tumor and this whole time travel mystery that keeps you reading to figure it out, and I love that. The romance is more deep and believable because of the issues they are up against. It is definitely worth the read. ... show more

This was such a refreshingly different book. I liked not knowing what was going on, and finding things out at the same time as the FMC. One of the most EPIC LOVE STORIES I’ve ever read! Simply amazing and a MUST READ! I’ve read a few of Elizabeth O’Roark’s books before, but it’s been a bit. Last week I found Parallel and downloaded it immediately. So excited to have found a new book of hers to read. Parallel is most definitely my favorite Elizabeth O’Roark book. I am so in love with Nick and Quinn! Their life story is as much a fairytale as it is a nightmare. Imagine loving someone so deeply that spending even the littlest time away from them causes you so much anxiety but then to be without them and not even know why....absolutely devastating! I can’t imagine being without the love of my life. This isn’t just their love story...this is a love that spans over LIFETIMES!!! A love so strong that nothing; no one...not even time can withstand it. Yet it tries. After an incident lands Quinn in the hospital where Nick works; the two encounter each other when Quinn needs medical attention. They feel this intense and immediate connection unlike anything they’ve ever felt with anyone else. Nick and Quinn feel like they’ve know each other their entire lives, yet these memories feel more like dreams. So many memories.....Childhood best friends, high school sweethearts, college loves.. They have these feelings for each other and memories together that can’t be explained. Their attraction to each other is OFF THE CHARTS HOTTTT too! Trying to figure out what their past together was and what happened; they journey together to find answers. Only Quinn is engaged to be married and Nick has a girlfriend. With everyone standing in their way and only more obstacles piling up while they also try to fight their attraction to each other. The things they find out along the way are MINDBLOWING! At this point they aren’t sure what their next steps even need to be; just that they might just want to stop fighting this crazy attraction they feel for each other. What’s going to happen if they do!?!? HOLY HOTNESS! I’m not sure the last time I read a book that I was actually rooting for the heroine to get the hero instead of me. I guess if we are going to be honest, I should admit that I was secretly hoping to go to sleep and dream of Nick Reilly! He’s just so amazingly perfect but with sexy flaws...if that’s even possible! Yea it totally is possible! Quinn is simply amazing! So strong yet at the same time after a lifetime of trying to appease everyone else she just wants to stop and put herself first for once. I found myself rooting her on time and time again while at the same time literally fussing at her aloud over her letting people run over her. It was amazing to watch her come into herself during the book. I loved her friends, they are so fiercely protective of her and that’s the way it should be! What a beautiful, interesting, just amazing book. Elizabeth O’Roark is a newer to me author, I read my first book by her last year and she’s an incredible writer. The way she writes it addicting. She knows how to pull at all your emotions, and she also knows how to write a super angsty story. I loved every second of Parallel. I love most MMC, but man did I fall for Nick. Holy hell this man is perfect. He’s definitely getting added to one of my top favorites. I’m a huge sucker for soul mate / meant to be / undeniable love in stories and this book delivered and gave me everything I wanted and more. Cant wait for book 2! 5/5 ⭐️ ... show more

Nick and Quinn have an epic love story, that I couldn't put down! I just couln't read fast enough to see where their story would go. WOW!

Surprisingly found myself thinking about this book constantly and how this was going make sense. It’s a fun easy read. Definitely will continue the series.

    • Good, but slow
Firstly, I love time travel books, so I was surprised that I hadn’t come across this series until now. The 5 star reviews had me excited to dive in to this world. Overall, I liked the book. There wasn’t anything “bad”, per se. I think it just felt slow. The plot seemed to drag and circle back too many times, while the “paranormal” aspect seemed to take a back seat. The ending piqued my interest, so I’ll go ahead and read the second in the series to see if it picks up a bit. I’d say that if you’re a fan of this genre, go ahead and read it, but maybe with the expectation that it’s more of a foundation for the rest of the series? Or you may absolutely adore it.
