This shredder not only allows your staples on, also shreds unwanted DVD's,CD's, cardboard, credit cards, into little confetti bits of pcs. Love this shredder! So far I haven't had any paper jams. I like how there is a window so you can see when it's getting full (and it's satisfying watching the paper shred). Much better than the 15 year old shredder we replaced. It is quieter, easy to empty, great value. I do not use it to shred computer CD's or credit cards since I think that is what killed our previous shredder.
