  • DVD player
Works well. Good price. 4k movies look great.

  • Great 4K player
This is a great player. The picture and sound quality are superb. I gave the "User Interface" only 3 stars, because: The unit only comes with a Basic Owner's manual, which is VERY limited. You need to go on the web to dig into what this player is capable of doing and that is about everything except make your breakfast! I have not had time to go through everything. But one item I use often is subtitles. There is a button on the remote for subtitles, however It does not always work on older DVDs or perhaps all DVDs. You have to know if the subtitles are digital or analog! In other words when you push the "CC" button to get subtitles, good luck. If you use your DVD player to stream (which I do) the only streaming service I have been able to get the player to lock into is Prime Video. Have not been able to get my VUDU account to come up. So it is a good thing that I have the Apple TV 4K ! I would also like to mention the Remote Control. Why do they have to make it so the buttons are so small, except for the NETFLIX button which I keep pushing when using the arrow keys? Bottom line: I bought this player for the quality of the picture and sound when watching 4K, Blu ray and regular DVDs, then this machine shines. ... show more

  • Good picture quality not so good technical support
I like the size of this 4k blueray player. It also seems sturdy and well buil I like the picture quality. I'm no expert, but the picture that appears on my television looks top notch. I really believe it makes DVD's and regular bluray disks look even better. The 4k disks look great My one disappointment is the technical support department. I had an issue with disks that use the B D live feature. It is a feature that is on some Universal Studio Disks. The disks take forever to load. I called technical support and two people I spoke to were totally unfamiliar with this issue. They blamed it on the disk. This made no sense. Because it was not a problem with another blu ray player i own. This bluray player has a feature that allows you to disable B D live. There is a reason this feature exists with the bluray player. They were unfamiliar with the feature and how it worked. They literally did not know it existed. Thankfully I did research on my own to resolve the issue. It's troubling when I can figure out the problem before trained technical support people can do so. I hope I have no other technical issues with this player. Overall I think this is a great 4k blutay player. I am extremely disappointed with the technical support I have gotten from Panasonic. ... show more

  • Works Well With My Sony TV & Receiver . . . .
After recently getting a Sony 4K TV and Sony 4K 7.2 receiver, I decided to get a 4K DVD player, even though I have a wonderful Panasonic DVD player/recorder that I got years ago. It wasn't 4K, though. I considered getting a Sony 4K one; but, from past experiences with both brands, I think Panasonic makes the highest quality, longest lasting DVD equipment. (I thought Panasonic made terrific TVs, too. I have a 32" Panasonic flat screen that is over 15 years old.) This new Panasonic player is much lighter than my player/recorder, but it works flawlessly. I have had no problems playing any disks I own or any coming from Netflix, Blu-ray or standard. The remote, like all Panasonic remotes, is simple to use, with nice big buttons for play, pause, etc. How the player works as a streamer, I don't know. My TV streams, so I see no reason to use the DVD player as a streamer. It can be hooked up, though, either wirelessly or with an ethernet cable. I hooked the Panasonic up to the receiver with a new Monster 21.0 Gbps HDMI cable. The included Panasonic manual says you must use an HDMI cable that supports 18 Gbps, and all of my HDMI cables were at least 10 years old, and I had no idea what they supported. Thus, best to get all new HDMI cables for the receiver. They were less than $15 each. When I turn on the DVD player, using the Panasonic remote, that turns on both the receiver and the TV, too, and the TV goes to the DVD input. I was happy to see that, because I didn't know how well the Sony equipment was going to play along with the Panasonic player. All is going well. Everything on the TV screen looks beautiful. I'm glad Panasonic still makes DVD players ... show more
