We decided to buy a patio heater to extend the time we could use our deck as fall and winter approaches here in the Boston area. With the COVID stay-at-home, being able to get outside is imperative to help stave off cabin fever. Our neighbor had one delivered and they were out of town so I lugged the bulky box into their house and took note of the brand. The heater had good reviews on Amazon so I bought one. What makes this type of heater so dramatic is that the flame is contained inside a glass tube that runs vertically in the center of the heater. Unfortunately, when ours was delivered and I opened the box, the glass tube was shattered on one end. The instruction manual provided a Hotmail email address and no phone number so I wasn't wildly optimistic that I would be able to resolve this quickly. But to my surprise, I got an email from Pamapic the next day apologizing and that they'd ship me a new tube. To my delight, the tube arrived in less than a week, fully intact. Now, that's excellent customer service! So I set about assembling the heater which was pretty straight-forward although you do have to read the manual (and this from someone who rarely does). It took about an hour by myself (some reviews have said you need 2 people but I had no problems doing it alone) and then I got a new propane tank and fired it up. It's almost as though there's an open fire on the deck - very impressive, warm and inviting. I can't tell yet how much heat it actually puts out but it definitely helps sets the ambiance... So far, I'm happy with this heater and very appreciative of the super responsive customer service. I actually bumped up my rating to 5 stars because I was so impressed with the service. ... show more

For the price it is a very nice heater. it arrived in good shape with no damage. The instructions were easy to follow and the entire project took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes. 20 minutes of that assembly was using taking the blue clear plastic off. Many people have mentioned it is difficult but actually it was pretty easy. Just get a corner peeled back and "slowly" pull and it comes right of. It really is no problem. The heater lighted on the first click of the starter and burned evenly. I am impressed given that this is less than $200. It did throw off some nice heat but given the outdoor temperature was about 45 degrees, the heat from the heater projected maybe 4 feet in radius. It's important to note that this is an open patio with no walls or ceiling to trap the heat. I doubt that you are going to get anymore of a heat range than what I mentioned in a open patio when it is in the 40's. However, it actually did better than the old one that I had that was about 3-4 years old. Overall, it is a good heater for the price and would probably be even more effective with a walled or screened in porch. In an open patio environment, I would not expect more than the 4 ft. heat radius that I have experienced. On that basis I would recommend. ... show more

We are truly enjoying our new heater. It’s durable, beautiful and puts out good amount of heat. My kids and I love it. I had a handy man put it together. It did take him about an hour and 20 minutes each heater. He said there’s a lot of small pieces. Definitely a patient task to put together but when done looks great. This is my second pyramid heater. The first was purchased a couple of years ago and I wanted a second one for another deck. I love the ambiance of these. It's like having a campfire on your deck. They do put off some heat but if you're not in an enclosed area then any breeze will eliminate the heat. These are not radiant heaters but they are great for making firelight on a deck or other area. That said, the new pyramid arrived. It was packaged extremely well. The directions were clear. the parts well protected. Assembly was easy. The materials also appear to be well made and fit was good. No complaints EXCEPT that the burner / valve has an issue. The pilot won't light so it is pretty much unusable. I would like to get a replacement part but the only support listed in the manual is an email address. I've tried to contact them but no response. It seems that if it doesn't work you don't have any options for parts. I'm not sure what to do with it now. I don't think I can return it assembled :) edit 11/7 - after about a week I received an email response offering a full refund or free replacement. It took a few days but they are offering to completely take care of the issue. I will try for the replacement since the overall quality appears quite good. I just got unlucky. ... show more

Heater works great. Not hard to assemble, looks nice and throws alot of light as well as heat. It unfortunately needed a new control box which was going to take over a month on backorder so they just sent me a whole new heater for free. It came right away and works flawlessly.
