I thought this papery bedding would be crunchy and hard but it's actually pretty soft and provides a good cushion for my hamster. There is no scent to so it's smells clean. It's easy for the hamster to burrow through. I especially love that it is dust free. I had to switch bedding because the Kaytee bedding was too dusty for my pet. This bedding isn't dust free, but he doesn't sneeze and cough as much. I suppose every pet reacts differently to bedding.

Oxbow is typically a good brand, besides the bedding apparently. It feels smaller than other bedding of the same liter. I’d honesty stick to carefree. Not to mention the blue plastic I found it it.
