I have a lot of grey/silver hair and some very light, almost white, hair that frames my face. When I stopped coloring my hair, I noticed yellowing in my lighter colored grey/white sections. As I looked into purple shampoos I learned many have unnecessary, and sometimes toxic, ingredients. Especially in what is used to create the purple color. This shampoo is one of the cleanest ones I found and has the correct pH level to remove the brassiness, but not cause skin irritation. I also love that it’s packaged in an amber glass bottle, not plastic. After my first 2 washes I noticed an improvement in the color and texture of my hair. I’ve been using this shampoo for 6 months now and I’m still pleased with the results. I have a beautiful silver color and a smooth soft texture. Changed to this due to autoimmune disease. Cleaning up my beauty and health products. I have long natural gray hair mixed with my natural dark brown. This shampoo has effectively neutralized all grassiness for well over 2 years. Has a non-irritating very light scent. If I use it more often, it can deposit a fine pale purple tone to my gray streak which is fun sometimes. Very subtle. I wash my hair twice a week. I use it once a week or every ten days. Twice a week if I want a bit of subtle color. A little goes a long way though I generally wash first with a gentle Attitude shampoo and then this: leave it on with a hair clip while washing elsewhere for about 7-10 minutes. ... show more

I saw an online article about Oway Steel Hair Bath being the best natural purple shampoo and decided to look on Amazon and ordered it immediately. The instructions said to use a few pumps, twice a week, leaving it on a few minutes and rinsing. I was nervous because it is a super purple color, but it smells amazing (like a spa treatment). Ingredients are all organic and include Resurrection Plant and Patagonian Blueberry (which I am guessing gives it the purple color). After using it once, I noticed less yellow in my hair and after three washes I could really see the silver in my hair become more shiny. I have used it for about a year now and my hair looks amazing (see pic). I highly recommend the product to men (and women) if you are looking to reduce that yellowy, dull look that grey hair tends to turn. ... show more

I think this is going to be the greatest purple shampoo ever. It is safe with natural fragrance and nourishing ingredients. It is costly, however, and comes in a glass bottle. I would think that would deserve a cardboard box carton for delivery. I am getting a replacement and ordered two more. Was told it will come in a box. I am glad they made it right. ... show more
