I only have to file the tip down to my desired size. They are much harder to get straight, but I have only be doing my own acrylics for a few months so that could just be user error. Love these tips! They are thin which is perfect for under my dip nail powder. They are easy to apply! They come with about 12 different sizes and most of my nails use the size 9, so I won’t be using most of them, but they are cheap enough that I will buy when I run out of size 9s. :) I file them into almond shape and it makes it so much easier to do so. ... show more

I bought this product because the reviews seemed legit. And I've been looking for short stiletto tips I wouldn't have to shape or file down. But when I got the nail tips they were NOTHING like described or reviewed. There is no way to sufficiently attach nail tip to the natural nail as there is no hallow/deep part of it. It's really annoying when the reviews are completely false and misleading. It's a complete waste of people's time, money and trust of this site. The numbers on the tabs make it so easy to put these on! The picture on the left shows what they look like with a few dips of mia secret, clear acrylic powder. All the positive reviews are true. These tips are so nice and thin -- I do my own gel nails and I have found that I can use these tips under a simple combo of base gel, two coats of color, and top coat... I don't even need a builder gel. After using the aforementioned layers, there is no noticeable ridge between the end of the tip and my natural nail. There are lot of sizes so it is pretty easy to find a tip to fit each nail. I have used these tips in two ways -- by cutting down my natural nails and putting the tips on all my fingers, and by using them to stand in for my natural nails when I grow them out and end up with one or two broken ones. You can also shape them into a sort of ballerina/coffin shape by filing the tip down. ... show more

I'm an amateur, I enjoy doing my own nails at home and recently started playing around with dip powders and these made it a lot easier for me since I'm not that good at getting the right shape. I decided to file them into an almond shape because it just didn't look right otherwise. Would be nice if they had a guide added to the bottom like the others do, but I could see that they didn't before I purchased them, so not a fault of the company, I guess. So that makes them a bit harder to work with if you have short nails, otherwise there's not much for the tip to bond onto and it just comes out not looking right, in my opinion. ... show more
