  • Overture is a top brand company with awesome colors
Color: Silk Gold
I have been 3d printing for over 6 years. Overture is one of my go to filaments. Top quality, and works. Best used around 220 degrees celcius

  • clean and easy
Color: White 3kg-1 Pack
Overture has always made great filament. Sometime you need to pay a little more for good PLA as not all filament is made equally between brands and there are some very cheap brands.

  • It's good
Color: Glow Yellow
I bought another brand of yellow glow in the dark filament without looking closer at the reviews. My mistake. Overture is clearly superior. I used a UV light and exposed both at the same time. My camera makes it look like it's way brighter than it actually is (low light settings, I guess) but it does glow Much better than the competition. It's also printing much smoother, as well. In regular light, the Overtures yellow is less intense, kind of a light matte yellow. ... show more

  • Great!
Color: Silk Gold
Oh my goodness, this silk gold PLA filament is absolutely magical! I've been 3D printing for years, but I've never had a material that makes my prints look this luxurious. The moment I pulled my first print off the bed, I couldn't stop staring at how the light plays off the surface - it literally looks like it's made of metal! I've been having so much fun printing decorative vases and custom jewelry stands that actually look worthy of displaying nice pieces. One of my favorite prints was a dragon statue I made for my nephew's birthday - the way the scales shimmer in the light made it look like something from a high-end collectibles shop. The consistency of the filament is remarkable - I've gone through almost the whole spool without a single clog or jam, which is pretty impressive for specialty filament. It prints beautifully at standard PLA temperatures, so I didn't have to spend ages tweaking my settings. The surface quality is just outstanding - minimal layer lines even at 0.2mm, and they almost disappear completely at 0.12mm. I worried it might be finicky with complex designs, but it handled my detailed prints like a champ. The dimensional accuracy has been spot-on - I printed some interlocking pieces for a jewelry box, and everything fits together perfectly. Even my printer-skeptic spouse was impressed by how "un-plasticky" the prints look. Yes, it's a bit pricier than regular PLA, but for anything decorative or display-worthy, it's absolutely worth it. After using this, I've basically retired my regular gold PLA - there's just no comparison in terms of the final look. I had a friend commission some awards for a local gaming tournament after seeing my prints, and the recipients couldn't believe they were 3D printed. The spool came well-packaged with no tangles, and the included clear instructions helped me dial in my settings quickly. ... show more

  • Strange PLA filament
I've got the Silk Silver PLA and I gotta say this stuff is strange. Pros: - Semi-gloss appearance! Hard to come by as most silk filaments are super reflective, amplifying any surface defects. I wish more semi-gloss filaments are on market. - Light silver color is neat, looks like steel. Cons: - It curls slightly for slender and long prints. PLA prints shouldn't curl at all, period. - Bed adhesion is subpar, esp. for small first layers. You can make it work, but I haven't change PLA settings in a long time as other brands just work. - It's LIGHTER than other PLA filaments in weight? Very strange and prints feel hollower as a result. I have a universal PLA profile for a couple of go-to brands, which I can easily use the same gcode for different color filaments to make the same items. Inconveniently, this weird filament requires me to tweak settings for its own gcode for okay results. I got this for the color but that's about it. ... show more

  • Great filament
Color: Silk Gold
Have bought 20ish rolls of the overture gold silk pla and it prints great! I’ve tried with an ender 3 v2 and a Bambu a1. It prints great on both. I’ve never had the filament break on me or have moisture issues on arrival. The filament is always vacuum sealed.

  • Garbage - Brittle and wet
Color: Silk Gold
This filament is garbage. The color is ok, but it literally snaps if flexed in my hand. I have bought 100s of filaments and this is the worst I have had. I dried it multiple times, and it stays brittle as if its wet, and it doesnt extrude very well. I would never buy this filament or anything from OVERTURE again. ... show more

  • This is now my go to brand for PLA filament
Color: White 2kg-1 Pack
I have tried several brands of filament over the last several years of printing, and when I first tried Overture, I really liked it. Unfortunately, at the time, the printer I had (the Ender 5 Pro) had ALL sorts of issues, and so while the filament worked really well when I was able to get good prints, the times that the printer didn't fail were few and far between and I wasted a decent amount of filament. Got a Prusa MK4 back in October (which I HIGHLY recommend!) and in the past month and a half have used two full 2 kg spools of Overture, and two 1 kg spools, with nearly non-stop virtually failure free printing. The details I have been able to get with this combo of printer and filament have been amazing, and while I will still print small things off that have a lot of detail using the resin printer I have, due to FDM supports having a tendency to rip off small details still (it seems better than it was, but I haven't been able to tweak it enough to keep the small stuff from breaking off trying to remove them), but the bigger models and prints that I have done so far have been great! I would liken the quality of these prints to where resin printing was back around the pre-mono screen resin printing days, or slightly better, which is absolutely amazing for an FDM printer. I have had relatively little stringing, although if I do have any it's typically between really small details, such as the teeth in the dragon's mouth, but it's been easy enough to clean off. That said, I've already bought two more 2 kg spools of white PLA, one of which I've already started printing from since I got it yesterday, and will be buying another 2 kg of black so that I can print the helmet of the Black Knight from Monty Python's Holy Grail movie for my 2025 Halloween costume! ... show more
