The media could not be loaded. Needed a stove top as our landlord refuses to fix our stove. I already have an air fryer that doubles as an oven. We just needed a stove top. We bought this one b/c of the reviews & the price. It was delivered today (June 10, 2024) so I can't speak on the longevity of it but as far as its capabilities, well it's great! We made spaghetti & meat sauce on it. We started by boiling water on the larger burner & cooking ground beef on the smaller one. The temperature is accurate, it heats up evenly & quickly. It's small enough to fit on any counter & move wherever you need it. It looks great! It did give off that "new appliance smell" when we first fired it up, but it dissipated within 5 mins so not an issue at all. I'm in love with it. No surprise, but just in case you're wondering, the casing does get hot, so be careful. Not extremely hot but hot enough to be mindful of. You probably won't burn yourself if you accidentally touch the side but for an honest review, you must include everything. For people who need a stove top, it's great. Especially if you don't have a lot of room or need something portable. I seriously highly recommend this product, especially considering the price! Def worth it! PS.... if the durability is an issue, I'll update my review. But so far, it seems strong enough & it's def scratch RESISTANT. ... show more

I bought this to use outside next to my grill. I was concerned that a hot plate might not not get hot enough to to work well when the wind picked up. Not to worry! It gets really hot and quickly too. No problem boiling up pots of water for shrimp or crab. The control works very well. It's easy to dial the heat down to keep basting sauces barely simmering. Because it is cast iron it does take a little while to cool down enough to handle, but that just goes with the territory. By far it's the best , and least expensive , BBQ accessory I have! ... show more

I purchased this as we were having our kitchen remodeled and didn't have a cooktop. It is perfect to prepare eggs, breakfast and smaller meals. It will boil water- but take just a few extra minutes. Overall, the burners are a bit hard to clean, but the rest of the unit is very easy to clean. It was great for the price and served our needs well! I would recommend! ... show more

I had searched for a two burner hot plate to replace my old one of ten years. I was hoping to find the right one that could boil water quickly for making oatmeal and pasta, but all the reviews said that they took too long to boil water so I didn't buy any. Then, a few days before Christmas, the temperature knob broke off on one of the burners on my old one and I needed a replacement right away. I use the hot plate for all my stove top cooking, as my husband had an asthma attack when I was using the unvented gas stove at the house we are renting when we first moved in after selling our house. He hasn't has asthma since he was a boy, when his mother used a gas stove. Amazon had this Ovente two burner hot plate for $20. I ordered it and got it the next day. It works great. My solution for boiling water quickly is to use my Corsori Electric Tea Kettle to boil the water while I have about 1/4 cup of water in a pot on the burner set on high. By the time the water boils in the kettle, the burner is hot. I pour the boiling water into the pot and within 3 minutes, the water is boiling and ready for pasta or oatmeal. ... show more

You get what you paid for, for an RV it’s ok or if you are in the army. But if you live in an apartment without a full size kitchen, DONT buy this one, doesn’t work for day to day tasks since is too slow to get heat. There are some similar models a little bit more expensive but worth the investment.

this product worked great at first. after about 2 weeks the heating element seems to have started burning out or something. it doesn't heat up like it did at first and does not boil liquid, even water. I do not have a traditional stove so I have to use something like this product on a daily basis. Apparently this product is not my answer. It did arrive on time and is easy to use and store. cleaning is a breeze although how can it get dirty if it doesn't do what I want it to do, which is cook. I will not recommend this product to family and friends ... show more

The cast iron plate to me is better than the spiral heating element types. At my job, we occasionally get new 1 gallon cans of epoxy where the epoxy is almost as thick as clay. We use the burner to heat the gallon cans to liquefy the epoxy before mixing with hardener. The cans have a tendency to jiggle on top of the spiral heating element type burner. The cast iron plate is solid and does not have any movement which will be better for 1 gallon cans of epoxy. I tested the burner on heat setting number 2 to liquefy a jar of solidified coconut oil. It only took about 15 minutes on low heat to do so. This burner was not purchased to cook with so I cannot vouch for its cooking abilities. Some people claim it takes a while to heat up. I will soon find out when it is used to heat cans of solidified epoxy. I am not worried about slow heat and slow cool down cycles. The burner stays stationary in an area away from any potential combustible objects and is left to cool down after heating a can of epoxy that needs to be liquefied.
